The warning comes as farmers say it's causing damage to crops and animals.

Quote Message: There have been a number of crop fires started by Chinese lanterns in recent years. Livestock have been injured or even killed by ingesting parts of lanterns. Even bamboo-framed lanterns pose a risk to animals as the frames can splinter. from Jeff Powell Berks, Bucks and Oxon NFU chair

Billy Johnson and Charles Noble were “engaged in selling Class A drugs to residents in Abingdon. They were crack and cocaine dealers who wanted to remain in business,” the judge added.

Both “wore masks to conceal their faces with the intention to ambush the group”.

  11. Verging on the ridiculous?

If you've noticed more overgrown hedges than usual in Oxfordshire, it's because the county council has reduced how often it cuts them back.

Woman cuts back grass on a roadside verge

Some residents have taken matters into their own hands and gone out to cut verges themselves.

County council leader Ian Hudspeth says the council has faced complaints in the past from people who say it has cut verges back too much... but they will deal with verges where there are safety issues for drivers.
