  2. Watch: Police try to trace hit-and-run driver

    Our top story today concerns the death of Shane Lay, 42, from in a hit-and-run in Bungay.

    Police are appealing for the driver and occupants of the Nissan Qashqai that is believed to have hit him to come forward.

    Here's my report.

  6. Anglian Water trying to find out who's responsible for pipes serving Badersfield

    Let's return now to the story about a partially-closed stopcock being blamed for weeks of low water pressure affecting about 600 residents in the north Norfolk village of Badersfield.

    Emma Staples from Anglian Water said a different pipe network was in place "and we aren't responsible for all the pipes in that area."

    She said: "Some of them are owned by the local management company and there are others we need to establish who is responsible for."

  7. Council leader shares concerns over devolution

    The leader of Norfolk County Council has been meeting Local Government Minister Greg Clark, who is responsible for a plan to devolve powers to Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. 

    Cliff Jordan (pictured) has been speaking to Mr Clark about concerns with the deal, which would see a mayor rule over the three counties.

  8. Former England cricketer joins school coaching team

    Former England player Mal Loye has joined the cricket coaching team at Gresham's School, Holt.

    Loye, 43, played a significant part in Lancashire's County Championship Division Two title-winning season in 2005 and was the county's leading run-scorer with 1,198.

    He said: “I can’t wait to get started at Gresham’s and to share my passion for cricket with the pupils to help them reach their full potential."

  9. Pedestrian killed in Bungay collision 'thought to be on the pavement ' say police

    Police say Shane Lay, 42, from Broome, who died following a fail-to-stop collision in Bungay on Friday, is thought to have been on the pavement when he was hit.

    Insp David Giles said: "We know that Mr Lay had been out in the town during the day.

    "We know from witness testimony there's been a screech of tyres, a thud which is clearly the collision, and then the vehicle making off at speed."

  10. Police urge occupants of hit-and-run car to come forward

    The police officer leading the inquiry into the death of pedestrian Shane Lay, who died after a hit-and-run crash in Bungay, says he's in "absolutely no doubt" that the driver and the occupants of the vehicle, thought to be a Nissan Qashqai, similar to the one pictured below, knew "exactly what's happened".

    Insp David Giles added: "I'm appealing directly for the occupants to come forward, help us identify the location of the vehicle, and to give us their version of events."

    Mr Lay, who was 42 and from the nearby village of Broome, was walking his dog in Bridge Street at the time of the collision.

  13. Norwich man charged with assault after stand-off with armed police

    A Norwich man has been charged following a stand-off with armed police in the city on Saturday, after a man was stabbed in the arm.

    The 48-year-old has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.

    Police say the charges relate to an incident involving a 22-year-old male victim.

  15. Travel: Multi-vehicle accident closes A147 in North Burlingham

    The A147 is closed in North Burlingham and there's queuing traffic in both directions between Dell Corner Lane and the B1140 South Walsham Road, because of an accident involving a lorry and three cars.

  16. Greater Anglia running extra trains during summer weekends

    Abellio Greater Anglia is increasing the number of trains it runs during summer weekends, as part of its franchise agreement with the government.

    Two extra mainline trains will operate between Norwich and London, and there will also be changes to branch line services, including an hourly service between Norwich and Lowestoft.

  17. Magistrates asked to serve eviction notice on car park travellers

    Magistrates in Great Yarmouth are being asked to serve an eviction notice on travellers who have been camped on the Marina Centre South car park since Friday.

    A spokesman for Great Yarmouth Borough Council says the car park ticket machine will be covered up until the travellers have gone.

    He said the council expected the car park to be cleared by the end of today if the eviction order was granted.

  18. Inquest into Thorpe Marshes deaths to take place in autumn

    Relatives of two teenagers who died after swimming in an old gravel pit lake near Norwich have been told the full inquest will go ahead this autumn.

    Bonheur Musangay, 14, and Stella Kambi,17, were with their families when they got into difficulties in the water at Thorpe Marshes, Thorpe St Andrew, last August.

    The full inquest will start on 10 October.

  19. Police name pedestrian who died in Bungay hit-and-run

    More now on the death of a pedestrian who died following a fail-to-stop collision in Bungay on Friday.

    Police have named him as Shane Lay, 42, of Loddon Road, Broome.

    Mr Lay was walking his dog at the time of the crash. The dog was uninjured.
