Campaigners to ignore French ban on aid convoy for Calais migrants
Campaigners in Oxford who planned to travel to Calais in convoy tomorrow to deliver aid for refugees have described a French ban on their plans as "inhumane".
More than 20 people in six vehicles from Oxford were booked to join another 200 cars, lorries and vans from around the country making the aid convoy.
French authorities in Calais obtained a judicial ban on the British-organised convoy, but campaigners say they will still make the journey.

This video taken by Emma Shepperd shows a huge fireball caused when lightning struck the Agrivert food waste plant in Benson, near Wallingford yesterday.
“I was trying to film the lightning and looking out the window and it struck the top end, that’s when it caught fire,” Emma says.
Agrivert confirm their plant was struck by lightning at 17:20, igniting methane gas stored in the roof of one of their five digesters.

A vigil will be held to remember the MP Jo Cox, who died after being shot and stabbed outside her constituency office yesterday.
The event is organised by the Oxford University Labour Club and begins at 20:00 in Cornmarket Street.

An Oxford University study shows children who dance together, get on together.
Children from different groups were lined up wearing headphones, facing each other, and asked to dance to music played to them.
Moving in tune with each other brought them closer together, breaking down barriers and reducing prejudices, the researchers say.
