  2. Weather: Isolated thundery showers clearing

    Any remaining showers will ease, leaving most parts clear and dry overnight. However some low cloud and mist will edge in from the east, with some murky conditions developing for some by Thursday morning. Lows of 11C (52F).

  3. Thame's war heroes remembered at last on memorial

    A group of volunteers in Thame have discovered 36 men who they believe are missing from the town's war memorial.

    The organisers of Thame Remembers have made the discovery as a result of researching and honouring the names currently there. 

    Now, the town council has given approval for names to be added, as long as they meet the right criteria.

    • It was built in Doncaster in 1923 
    • It pulled the first train to break the 100mph barrier in 1934

    The locomotive is travelling from Crewe to London Paddington on a non-stopping service and will pass through south Oxfordshire later this evening.

    Exact timings of the Flying Scotsman's tour are not being published in a bid to reduce the chances of people standing on the track in an effort to get as close as possible, with Network Rail warning "fans are urged to keep off the tracks."

  7. Henley chemical alert: Nine treated at scene

    Nine patients - all suffering from minor coughs and breathing difficulties as a result of a chemical leak - have been treated at the scene, according to South Central Ambulance Service.

    No-one was taken to hospital. 

    Meanwhile, ambulance crews and hazardous materials teams are still at the scene.

    Fareham MP Suella Fernandes, who led the debate, has called on the Southern Health chief executive to resign.

I understand that position, but the sheer weight of criticism of the Trust’s leadership over a prolonged period whilst she has been Chief Executive would lead many to a different conclusion.
  9. Travel latest: Delays in Henley and on the A34

    • There's very slow traffic and one lane is blocked on the A34 northbound between Weston-On-The-Green and Bicester, because of a broken-down vehicle

  10. Military confirm robot vehicle will be used at Didcot power station

    The Ministry of Defence has confirmed it is sending in a remote control vehicle to help in bringing down the remainder of the Didcot power station.

    It adds it is providing "trained military operators to assist in clearing hazards and taking the remaining structure down safely".

  13. Henley chemical incident: Customers left store 'coughing and with streaming eyes'

    Police say they were called to a shop in Bell Street at 14:36, to reports several customers came out of a store coughing and with streaming eyes. 

    They confirm seven people are being treated at the scene by South Central Ambulance Service.

    There are cordons in place which are likely to remain for the next two hours or so while the fire service deals with the incident. There are also traffic restrictions in place and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

    They add there is nothing to suggest that this is related to terrorism.
