Wookey Hole cave opened by rock blast

A new cave which lies more than 80 metres beneath the Mendip Hills in Somerset has been opened up to the public for the first time.

Cavern 20, as it's called, was previously only accessible to divers who had to swim along narrow corridors at Wookey Hole to gain access.

Engineers have spent two months blasting through the rock to create a new pathway.

The BBC's Clinton Rogers was among the first to be allowed inside.
