'Clearer picture' sought from city residents over York flood response
People affected by the recent floods in York are being asked to tell their stories about what happened in a bid to improve the response to any future flooding.
David Carr, leader of City of York Council, says: "It's important we do everything we can to answer residents' questions and ensure that we all, as a city, can learn from this experience.
"This review will help us to get a much clearer picture of what happened and what steps need to be taken to try to prevent flooding like this in the future."

Last month's Invictus Games, which Prince Harry organises, is a competition for injured armed forces personnel.
This morning, I saw the athletes who took part in the games, treated to a heroes breakfast.
Anna Pollock, who won two medals at the games (pictured top left), served in the Royal Air Force. She suffered a bleed on her spine which means she now uses a wheelchair.

Harrogate Ladies' College pupils celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in style by designing and creating their very own birthday cake as part of a national competition for schools.
The 1m high cake featured a cupcake croque-en-bouche tower topped with an edible crown.
The vigil, organised by University of York students, will start at about 19:00 in St Helen's Square.
Organisers say: "Anyone who would like to is welcome to stand with us, pay their respects, and reflect. Weather permitting, we will light candles as well."
Traffic and travel: A171 closed near Scarborough after accident
Drivers on the A171 are being warned by police to be aware of possible delays near Scarborough due to an accident.
The top temperature will be about 17C (63F) with a light and variable wind.

A North Yorkshire Police Panel ruled yesterday that PC Simon Ryan was guilty of gross misconduct after he wrote "paedo", "paedophile" and "kiddie fiddler" on the document to amuse colleagues.

Today, the panel concluded that the appropriate sanction "was dismissal without notice demonstrating the gravity attached by the panel to the gross misconduct".
The hearing at the police headquarters is the first disciplinary the force has held where the public and press are allowed to attend.

North Yorkshire Police's Wildlife Unit say the death, in Timble Ings woodland between Skipton and Harrogate, is "suspicious" and that "10 of the birds have been found dead" recently.

The Independent Flood Inquiry Panel is due to hold a series of meetings later this month, asking for comments on the city's reaction to the December floods - and what lessons can be learned.

The A171 in Cloughton Newlands is currently closed and there's queuing traffic in both directions between the Gowland Lane junction and the Newlands Road junction due to an accident.

A candlelight vigil's due to be held in York this evening to commemorate the victims of the Orlando shootings at the weekend.
A gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning, killing at least 49 people and injuring dozens. It's the worst mass shooting in recent US history.

It looks like things are a bit tight for motorists in Bridlington, many of whom say they're having to breathe in when they get out of their cars.
Businesses there claim new parking spaces aren't wide enough and they're so small drivers can't open their doors.
East Riding Council says the bays conform to the government's national guidelines, but will now make the alterations following these complaints.

This latest find follows one in Blubberhouses last month.
The rare birds of prey were all found in North and West Yorkshire, and police say they're concerned by the "unusually high" number of recent attacks on red kites.
Red kites are protected under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and anyone found killing one can face up to six months in jail.
Day by the sea for Yorkshire in One-Day Cup
It's a day beside the seaside for Yorkshire as they take on Northamptonshire at Scarborough in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Play's scheduled to start at North Marine Road at 11:00, but that is, of course, dependent on the weather.
