At 20:30 BST tonight on BBC One Wales there is a Gareth Bale documentary. If you miss it, it will be on BBC iPlayer afterwards.

"He's a global superstar who almost single-handedly carried Wales to a first major championship in over half a century. But who is Gareth Bale, and how does he cope with the pressure of carrying the nation's hopes and the pressure of playing for one of the biggest institutions in the world?"

Andy Murray becomes the first British man to reach the French Open final since 1937 after beaing Stan Wawrinka 6-4 6-2 4-6 6-2.

Slovakia head coach Jan Kozak was surprised at Euro 2016 group opponents England's line-up for the 1-0 win over Portugal last night.

"I myself watched the match yesterday," he said. "I was surprised by the line-up. 

"I'm convinced that the English are not going to use this line-up in the first match. They have got their usual way of playing and this has just been a test."

Moto2 rider Luis Salom has died following a crash in Barcelona Free Practice 2.

The 24-year-old fell at turn 12 and the session was red flagged with just under 25 minutes left.

A Moto2 statement read: "Two medical cars and then two ambulances were immediately on scene to treat the 24-year-old and the medical helicopter was also deployed to assist in his treatment.

"Due the severity of his condition, the decision was taken to transfer Salom by road to the nearby Hospital General de Catalunya. On arrival, he underwent surgery, but despite the best efforts of the trauma team, he passed away at 1655pm local time."

Darren Randolph and Keiren Westwood both hope to edge out one of their childhood heroes Shay Given for the Republic of Ireland keeper's jersey at Euro 2016. 

Randolph and Westwood have been Republic room-mates for a number of years and insist there is no animosity between them despite their desire to earn the shirt for the tournament in France. 

West Ham keeper Randolph has been the man in possession in recent matches but Westwood had a very impressive season with Championship club Sheffield Wednesday.

Former Olympic sprinter Roger Black has been speaking about the Little Stoke Parkrun being shut down.

The runs, which are held worldwide, are free but councillors in Bristol voted to charge for the site's upkeep.

Black told BBC Radio 5 live: "The ethos of the Parkrun is we don’t charge anything to encourage anyone to get exercise on a Sunday morning. 

"To start shutting them as victims of their own success sends out quite a worrying signal."

More from the BBC's Mike Costello on the news that Jamaica sprinter Nesta Carter's 'A' sample from the 2008 Beijing Olympics found traces of the banned stimulant Methylexaneamine.

Carter ran the lead-off leg in successful Jamaican teams at the Beijing and London Olympics and also at three world championships. 

A re-test of his sample given at the Beijing Games has produced the positive result. The banned substance is believed to be a stimulant – and any sanction against Carter could cost Usain Bolt one of his six Olympic gold medals.  

Many such cases in the past have resulted in the disqualification of the whole relay squad. Carter’s best time for the 100m of 9.78 seconds makes him the sixth-best in history. Five of the top six have now tested positive.

On Saturday at 13:40 BST on BBC One there is a Women’s Boxing World Championships highlights programme with a difference.

It follows the stories of Nicola Adams, Savannah Marshall and Chantelle Cameron - at home, at the gym and at tournaments - over the past four months in their bids to qualify for Rio.

It is narrated by Adele Roberts, who hosts the Radio 1 early breakfast show.
