Driverless pods, unveiled at a Birmingham auto show today, will have a range of 60 miles and be able to travel at a top speed of 15mph, say developers.
RDM Group, who're behind the autonomous Pod Zero, say up to 200 vehicles could be manufactured at their Coventry site and there's the possibility of moving to a new purpose-built facility in the city.

'New followers' of Brexit after Stratford campaign visit

Warwickshire businessman, Denys C Shortt said the Vote Leave campaign gained "a lot of new followers" after a visit to the area by leading Brexit campaigners yesterday.
He hosted MPs Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Gisela Stuart as well the former head of the British Chamber of Commerce John Longworth at a distribution centre of his DCS Group in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Over 100 of his staff listened to speeches, he said, summarising the "challenges of the next 20 years" if Britain were to remain in the EU.
Some of the themes included "open borders, free flow of people, pressure on public sector finances" and security.
On the economy "my view is, as an independent company we would actually do better once we're out of the EU".

A £21m contract has been awarded for 220 new "greener" ambulances for West Midlands Ambulance Service.
The new ambulances will be more fuel efficient and could potentially have solar panels.
Asylum seekers and refugees using British Red Cross on the up

The number of asylum seekers and refugees using the British Red Cross in the West Midlands has risen by more than 60% in the last year.
In the first part of 2015, the charity supported what it describes as 255 "destitute individuals".
This year, that's risen to 420.

A multi-vehicle collision is blocking one lane of the M6 northbound between J2, M69 (Coventry) and J3, A444 (Nuneaton).
Highways England is reporting one vehicle has overturned.
Pedestrian seriously hurt in Coventry crash

A woman has been left with serious injuries to her face and ribs after being hit by a vehicle in Coventry last night.
The pedestrian, in her 30s, was injured at the junction of Binley Road and Humber Road just before 22:00.
The ambulance service says she's being treated at Coventry's University Hospital for face, back, ribs stomach and pelvic wounds.

Moorcroft 'little bit pleased' Mo Farah only just broke 34-year record

Coventry athlete Dave Moocroft says he's "a little bit pleased" Mo Farah only shaved a tenth of a second off his 34-year British 3,000m record.
The double Olympic champion broke Moorcroft's long standing record at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting on Sunday.
Farah had not been born when the record was set, Moorcroft said.
"I knew the writing was on the wall," he said.
"Mo wants to get virtually every British record available."
He said it was a "phenomenal achievement" by the "greatest distance runner Britain's ever produced".
