  1. Time to tee off

    Neil Smith

    Entertainment reporter

That's all we have time for today, so we're heading home to enjoy the final hours of BBC Three as a digital channel before its move online tomorrow.

We might also catch the ubiquitous Stephen Fry, who'll be back on BBC One to reveal how he lives with mental health problems in The Not So Secret Life of the Manic Depressive: 10 Years On

But we'll be back bright and early on Tuesday with all the news, fashion and speeches from the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, plus much more besides.

In the meantime, we'll leave you with Justin Timberlake and Alfonso Ribeiro on a golf course in Nevada, taking time out to do the "Carlton dance" the latter made his own on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

At least the commentator sounds amused.

  2. BBC 6 Music Festival

Primal Scream, Roisin Murphy, Frank Turner and Suede were just a few of the acts that took part in the BBC 6 Music Festival in Bristol between Friday and Sunday.

If you weren't able to take part in the fun you can check out lots of performances on the BBC 6 Music website and here's a snapshot of what you missed in just 90 seconds.

  3. Thompson and Gleeson have fun in Berlin

Emma Thompson can always be relied upon to brighten up a press conference.

Here's the British actress doing exactly that at the Berlin Film Festival, much to the delight of Brendan Gleeson - her co-star in Golden Bear hopeful Alone in Berlin.

Alone in Berlin itself is a more serious affair, telling as it does the story of a factory foreman and his wife who rebel against the Nazis during World War Two by leaving anonymous postcards denouncing the war and the regime in the stairwells of Berlin's public buildings.

Daniel Bruhl also stars in Vincent Perez's film, which has yet to have a UK release in place.

  4. Kanye West's Grammy dreams

This year's Grammys have yet to be handed out, but it seems Kanye West is preparing himself for next year already.

The rap star has high hopes for his new album The Life of Pablo - formerly known as So Help Me God, Swish and Waves.

That's not the least of Kanye's recent Twitter output. The rapper has also been asking Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for some financial assistance to help him realise his creative aspirations.

  5. Laura Dern joins Star Wars: Episode VIII cast

    Laura and Bruce Dern

Laura Dern, pictured above with her actor father Bruce, has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began principal photography today at Pinewood Studios.

Dern joins Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and "talented newcomer" Kelly Marie Tran in the follow-up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is being both written and directed by Rian Johnson, of Brick and Looper fame.

Benicio Del Toro - who was at the Baftas last night with Boyega and other returning cast members Carrie Fisher and Domhnall Gleeson - is also in the cast, in what is rumoured to be a villainous role.

Read the official statement and watch a clip of Johnson on the Irish islet of Skellig Michael, putting Episode VIII's first scene in the can last September.

Spoiler alert: if you have still to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the footage picks off directly from where that film ended.

  6. Zombies stars party for Bafta

    Douglas Booth and Matt Smith

Douglas Booth (left) and Matt Smith were among the guests at the Bafta Film Awards after-party last night, which saw the great and good of the British film industry bop the night away until the early hours of the morning at London's Grosvenor House hotel.

Both can currently be seen in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a gory blend of horror and Jane Austen that opened in cinemas last week.

Entertainment reporter Lauren Turner caught up with Lily James and Bella Heathcote, two of the film's female stars, to find out what crinolines and corpses have in common.

  7. Stephen Fry writes about leaving Twitter

    Stephen Fry quote

Bafta host Stephen Fry has explained why he has left Twitter, insisting he hasn't "stalked off in a huff throwing [his] toys out of the pram".

He deleted his account this morning after facing criticism for comparing costume designer Jenny Beavan to a bag lady at last night's Bafta Film Awards.

He had assured those offended that Beavan was "a dear friend" who had "got" the joke, and tweeted a picture of the pair at the after-party.

This afternoon he wrote on his website about his reasons for leaving, claiming the instant messaging site had become "a stalking ground for the sanctimoniously self-righteous".

Quote Message: It's no big deal - as it shouldn't be. But yes, for anyone interested I have indeed deactivated my twitter account. I’'ve 'left' twitter before, of course: many people have time off from it whether they are in the public eye or not. Think of it as not much more than leaving a room.
Quote Message: I like to believe I haven't slammed the door, much less stalked off in a huff throwing my toys out of the pram as I go or however one should phrase it. It's quite simple really: the room had started to smell. Really quite bad.

This time, he's determined to complete it.

The six-part drama, which starred Paul Dano, Lily James and James Norton (pictured), won rave reviews.

  10. Ellis-Bextor goes balloon-y for Watch relaunch

Here's a picture of Sophie Ellis-Bextor, releasing hundreds of balloons in London this morning to mark the relaunch of Watch as W.

The pop star will present a documentary about fame for the UKTV subscription channel, whose other offerings include the same-day EastEnders repeats that will cease on BBC Three when it becomes online-only this week.

We're told the balloons used in the stunt were biodegradable, making them a little more expensive than the average balloon.

But hey - that's inflation for you...

  11. Out and about at the Berlin Film Festival

It's been a busy weekend at the Berlin Film Festival, where French actor Gerard Depardieu has been talking about his new film The End.

The Ukrainian film-maker was jailed for 20 years last August for plotting terrorist acts in Crimea, charges many believe were politically motivated.

    Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig's representative has told the BBC that there is no truth to news reports claiming he has decided to leave the James Bond series.

According to The Sun and other newspapers, the 47-year-old is quitting the franchise after signing up for a US TV series.

According to his rep, though, no decision has been made on whether he'll stay or go.

Over the weekend Variety reported that Showtime, Netflix and FX were in talks to buy the limited series, an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's recent novel Purity.

  14. Viola Beach tributes continue as investigation begins

    Viola Beach

An investigation is under way into the car accident that killed British indie band Viola Beach and their manager in Sweden on Saturday.

More tributes have been paid to the "lovable" band, whose members comprised Jack Dakin, Kris Leonard, Tomas Lowe and River Reeves.

The band, along with their manager Craig Tarry, were killed when their car plunged from a bridge into a canal.

Only hours earlier, the band had played their first gig outside the UK at Sweden's Where's the Music? festival.

  15. John Boyega starts filming Star Wars: Episode VIII

Bafta winner John Boyega had an early start today as he started work on Star Wars: Episode VIII.

He also dropped a few hints on what Star Wars fans can expect from the "dope" next instalment, due out in December 2017.

  16. Eddie Izzard to run 27 marathons in South Africa

Eddie Izzard, who ran 43 marathons in 51 days for Sport Relief in 2009, has announced he's to undertake another marathon feat.

The comedian is going to attempt to complete 27 marathons in 27 days for the charity, this time in South Africa.

Eddie will run more than 700 miles in temperatures of up to 30 degrees centigrade, without a day off.

The number of marathons is intended to mirror the 27 years that Nelson Mandela spent in prison.

The mammoth feat will start on 23 February, with BBC Three on hand to cover his efforts.

We confess to be a little bit worried about our national treasure. Has he taken on too much this time?

    Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan

The third series of Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon's culinary comedy series The Trip will be aired on Sky Atlantic, the channel has announced.

The Trip to Spain, to be filmed later this year, will see Steve and Rob’s fictionalised versions of themselves take a road trip from the North Atlantic to the Mediterranean coast.

Here's what Coogan, who will be seen this week on Sky Atlantic in the second series of Alan Partridge’s Mid Morning Matters, had to say about his latest venture.

Quote Message: Having thought long and hard about yet another sojourn into culinary distractions and middle age, I have reluctantly agreed to Eviva Espana. I have a hole in my diary, there will be free food and accommodation and Rob Brydon is surprisingly good company.

The first two series, set in northern England and Italy respectively, were shown on BBC Two in 2010 and 2014 respectively.
