  2. Boston and Skegness MP 'wouldn't support single county maternity unit'

    Boston and Skegness MP Matt Warman's just been speaking about proposals which could see just one maternity unit for the whole county.

    Health bosses said at a meeting last night that two options were on the table for caring for expectant mothers - one of which could see Boston's unit close.

    But Mr Warman said: "My gut instinct is that two sites is going to be the way forward - but it's not for me to say what the best way for women to give birth is.

    "But people should not be travelling long distances when they are in labour."

  3. Serco boss at centre of council finance 'chaos' moves on

    The man in charge of a private firm which has faced heavy criticism over its handling of Lincolnshire County Council's finances has left his post.

    Sean Hanson was in charge of citizen services at Serco - which has been accused of serious failures in paying council wages and bills.

    Recently Mr Hanson held a meeting with disgruntled headteachers in the county and had assured them he would make changes.

    Serco says he's leaving for a new role outside of the company.

  5. Man robbed at cash dispenser in early hours

    A man has been robbed after withdrawing cash from cash dispenser in Grimsby’s Freeman Street in the early hours of yesterday.

    The incident happened at just after midnight yesterday at the cash machine outside the Post Office.

    Two men came up behind the victim and pulled him around by the shoulder.

    He fell to the floor and the men took the cash from the machine before fleeing in the direction of Riby Square. 

    Any information should be passed to police on 101.

  7. Cathedral chorister school launches 'review' of music links

    Lincoln's Minster school has confirmed it's carrying out a review of its musical provision. 

    The fee-paying school educates Lincoln Cathedral's choristers.

    The headteacher, Mark Wallace, told BBC Radio Lincolnshire they are in continuing discussions with the Cathedral and remain committed to a high level of music teaching at the school. 

    The review is expected to be completed by the end of the summer term.

  9. Scunthorpe steel plant new owner: Government has critical role to play

    The new owners of Scunthorpe's steel plant says the government will play a "critical" role in making sure British Steel is successful in the long term. 

    Marc Meyohas, a partner in Greybull Capital, was speaking publicly for the first time since the company's purchase of the North Lincolnshire plant formerly owned by Tata.

    He appeared before the Business, Innovation and Skills committee to talk about the deal which has seen the plant in Scunthorpe return to the name British Steel.

  11. Collapsed sewer delays 'should end tomorrow'

    The roadworks in Wragby should be coming to an end tomorrow just in time for the busy Bank Holiday weekend.

    Temporary traffic lights on the A158 will be removed and the main traffic lights switched back on. The work's been taking place to fix a collapsed sewer.

  12. Hit-and-run victim was 'known to driver'

    Police investigating a hit-and-run incident in a village near Gainsborough say they think the victim and the driver knew each other.

    The police say a 19-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car  on the A631 in Beckingham on Tuesday morning.

    Officers want to hear from anyone who saw a silver estate car in the village.
