  5. Delapre Abbey delay comes after council discovered £900,000 funding black hole

    Craig Lewis

    BBC News

A fully-restored Delapre Abbey was scheduled to be opened by summer 2016, but by April the borough council was saying it would not be open until October this year.

    Delapre Abbey

That delay came at the same time as the news it would cost the authority an extra £900,000 to complete the work.

Now the date has been put back again until February 2017.

  6. Opening of restored Dealpre Abbey delayed until February 2017

    BBC News

The opening of Delapre Abbey has been delayed until February next year.

    Delapre Abbey

A £6.3m Heritage Lottery-funded scheme to restore the Abbey was originally set to be completed by summer 2016, when the building was due to open for the first time in 900 years.

But, according to the Delapre Abbey website, a "revised" date of Saturday, 11 February 2017 has now been set in order to "allow us to complete all the detailed restoration work".

  11. Student goes coast to coast to create fashion design

What do the coasts of Cornwall and New York have in common?

They're both featured in the fashion of University of Northampton student Sean Leggett, whose final-year collection will represent the uni at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week.

    The coastal clash design

The coastal clash design combined gold to represent Cornwall - as Sean associated it with a laid-back surfer-dude vibe - and silver for New York to represent the steel of the towering skyscrapers.

Graduate Fashion Week takes place from 5-8 June in Shoreditch.

    Craig Lewis

    BBC News

Protesters opposing plans for a waste-to-energy plant in St James say information given to them has "constantly changed".

Artist's impression of the new plant produced by protest group

Chairman of St James Residents' Association, Graham Croucher, told the BBC last week that there are question marks over proposals residents will be given a share of the profits.

The 'NoMoInNoHo' - or No Monster Incinerator in Northampton - has also raised objections over the size and environmental quality of the proposed plant.

  19. Two-year agreement would give waste plant developers a 'degree of certainty'

Northampton Borough Council has given developer Rolton Kilbride a two-year option on St James' Westbridge Depot.

There is a clause in the agreement that would allow the authority to extend the option for a further period.
