Scientists find cause of recurrent miscarriages

For the first time, scientists have discovered what causes women to have multiple miscarriages. A team from the University of Warwick in central England found that a shortage of stem cells in the womb lining causes thousands of women to have recurrent miscarriages. Around twenty percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and 1 in 100 women trying to conceive have three or more consecutive miscarriages. Professor of Obstetrics, Siobhan Quenby, is a co-author of the study. She explains why it's taken so long to find out what causes the problem.
