    Andrew Barton

    BBC Local Live, York

That's the end of our live service for today.

I'll be back from 07:00 on Tuesday with more news, sport, travel and weather updates from around the county.

Until then, have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Thanks to June Gothika for luring him close to the camera lense!

The men have not yet been identified and police say they want to hear from anyone who may be able to help.

  3. Listen: Bloomin' marvellous - Yorkshire schoolchildren design iconic Yorkshire Rose

    Jonathan Cowap

    Presenter, BBC Radio York

A competition has been launched among Yorkshire's schoolchildren to come up with their own artistic interpretation of the iconic white Yorkshire Rose.

Janice Richardson, from the charity Bloomin' Yorkshire, set up the charity after surviving two failed kidney transplants.

The competition is being held to raise awareness of organ donation, especially among children.

Janice says the new winning Yorkshire Rose design will be displayed in York's Museum Gardens:

  10. Pride in a procession: New Lord Mayor of York sworn in

York has a new Lord Mayor - and he looks quite pleased about it.

Dave Taylor has become the first Green Party councillor to hold the position.

This picture is from the Mayor Making Ceremony. Doesn't he look happy? Nice to see the joy peeking through the formal ceremony.

    Lord Mayor

The Lord Mayor is Chairman of City of York Council and the official "first citizen of the city".

City of York Council says York's Lord Mayor is "second only to the Lord Mayor of London in precedence" and its Sheriff holds the "oldest office of Sheriff in England and Wales".

  11. It's on the calendar!: The story of Rylstone WI heads for a West End debut

    Andrew Barton

    BBC Local Live, York

A musical based on North Yorkshire's Calendar Girls is heading to the West End.

The Girls - written by Take That star Gary Barlow and Tim Firth - opens in February at the Pheonix Theatre.

It tells the story of members of the Rylstone WI in the Yorkshire Dales, who hit the headlines around the world when their nude calendar became a global sensation.

Before its call to West End glory, the play was performed in Leeds in December last year, when Gary Barlow joined five of the original Calendar Girls on stage.

  12. The Banana Warehouse as you’ve never seen it before…empty and deserted

    YorkMix

For 22 years it was filled to the rafters with furniture, bric-a-brac and the occasional priceless antique.

But now, as York's world-famous Banana Warehouse prepares to close its doors for the final time today, it is empty, save for the memories.

  13. First photographs inside York's flooded Foss Barrier

    Andrew Barton

    BBC Local Live, York

The Environment Agency's released these photos, showing why York's Foss Barrier failed at Christmas.

The flood barrier is York's main flood defence and on Boxing Day 2015 its control room flooded.

These are the first pictures of the mess caused by the floodwater.

    Flooded foss Barrier

The building flooded because of leaks in a tunnel, according to a government report, and the barrier had to be raised flooding hundreds of homes.

  14. Yorkshire V Leicestershire T20: Info for fans - and enlightenment for the curious

    Andrew Barton

    BBC Local Live, York

For those of you in the know, Yorkshire face Leicestershire in the T20 Blastfalsethis evening and you'll be able to follow live commentary here.

For the less enlightened where cricket is concerned - like me! - I asked the BBC Radio York sport team to educate me on what T20 actually stands for, and have been surprised and interested at the answer.

T20, it seems, stands for Twenty20, which is a short form of cricket.

    Joe Root

Each side has only a single innings, restricted to a maximum of just 20 overs (120 balls) meaning the game is speeded-up considerably and, as a result, both sides are a lot more inclined to throw caution to the wind, given the lower chances of scoring.

    Sounds exciting doesn't it?
