Concerns over 'inexperienced' trekking porters in Nepal

Trekking agencies in Nepal say they are struggling to find enough experienced porters to help carry tourists' equipment and provide advice about ascending the area's peaks.

They are concerned that older, more experienced porters have been heading for the country's urban areas in search of better wages, leaving only younger porters who could be putting tourists and their own lives at risk.
