Neon Roberts's mother: 'I wanted the best for Neon'

A woman who went to court to prevent her son receiving radiotherapy has claimed she was only doing the "best" for her son.

Sally Roberts said she was scared the treatment would put son Neon, who had a brain tumour, at risk of long-term harm.

However, her objections to the treatment were overruled in December 2012 and Neon, then aged seven, began radiotherapy.

Roberts told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire: "I never was against conventional treatment - I wanted the best treatment for my son and I didn't think radiation was necessary."
