Police are 'incompetent', says acid attack victim

A woman left scarred by an acid attack has accused Scotland Yard of incompetence, saying they initially claimed she had done it to herself.

Naomi Oni, who suffered severe burns when friend Mary Konye threw acid in her face, told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that the police accused her "of doing it to [herself]".

The 22-year-old added that she has "received pain and backlash" since the incident.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 24 March.
