Ever wondered what bonus points are in speedway? They are a way of rewarding riders for team riding and are paid by the club, but don't count towards the side's total score on the night.

For example, if Witches skipper Danny King wins a race he and the team get three points. If his riding partner in that heat follows him in second place, he scores two points for the side but also gets a paid point.

It discourages riders on the same team competing against each other. Don't forget, speedway riders make their money on the number of points they score.
