Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale will wear personalised gloves against Ipswich on Saturday to honour two of the victims of the Shoreham air crash.

The names of Matt Grimstone, who was a member of Albion's ground staff, and his Worthing United team-mate Jacob Schilt will appear on his gloves.

Stockdale will also wear a shirt paying tribute to the duoexternal-link while warming up.

"Our thoughts are firmly with the families and friends of all affected," Stockdale, 29, told BBC Sussex.

Grimstone and Schilt were travelling to a Worthing United match on 22 August when a Hawker Hunter jet crashed on to the A27. Eleven people are thought to have died.

Grimstone, 23, had been with the Seagulls for seven years and worked at the club's training complex in Lancing, while Schilt was a Brighton supporter.

Brighton are dedicating their Championship match against Hull on Saturday, 12 September to the memory of all the victims of the disaster.

Stockdale visited Grimstone's family, along with Albion ambassador Alan Mullery, earlier this week.

"The squad is down in terms of what happened," Stockdale added.

"It has been tough to concentrate, but now we have turned it into more of what we can do at the weekend to help, in terms of using a bit of strength they would like to think they are bringing to us from wherever they are."
