Episode 4
Consumer series. The team meet the family devastated by what happened when they chose the wrong dealer to sell them a puppy.
Consumer champions Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville meet viewers who haven't got what they expected in return for their money, with plenty of advice to make sure the same doesn't happen to you.
Among this episode's stories, the family devastated by what happened when they chose the wrong dealer to sell them a puppy, a test to see how many people would know what faults to look for when buying a second-hand car, and do the money-saving plans aimed squarely at the over-50s always pay out as much money as you'd expect?
Plus, why what you see on the plans of a new home may not necessarily be what you end up with, and more problems solved at the Rip Off Britain Pop-Up Shop.

Buying a used car: Essential advice to avoid being ripped off
Tim Milsom from the Trading Standards Institute has produced, along with Citizens Advice, checklist for buying a used car called ‘Check it, Don't Regret It’.
The checklist highlights the essential steps you should take to ensure that the vehicle is safe and legal.
You can get more general information on buying a used car from Citizens Advice.
Correction: Tyre sizes
In the episode broadcast 18/09/2014 Tim Milsom from the Trading Standards Institute demonstrated a number of faults and illegalities on a test car. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
During the episode Tim correctly noted that having different size tyres on the same side the test vehicle would be illegal. Tim has asked us to clarify that this is not the case for all vehicles models. However it is the case for ALL vehicles that tyres on the same axle have to be the same size but can differ from front to back – this means that both front tyres have to be the same size / profile and both rears tyres the same size / profile.
