Stolen rare tortoise returned to Australian zoo
A critically endangered tortoise has been returned to the Australian zoo it was stolen from, thanks to the help of a good samaritan. The radiated tortoise - often targeted by illegal wildlife traffickers - was taken from its enclosure at Perth Zoo last Tuesday. Police said the man who bought the tortoise on the black market, handed the animal in after he realised its rarity. The zoo's director of life sciences Maria Finnigan says they are excited to have the tortoise back:
