'Sexting' can be an offence, police warn teenagers
Teenagers who send explicit pictures of each other could be threatened with prosecution, a police officer has warned.
Det Sgt Jan Rusdale, from Nottinghamshire Police's sexual exploitation investigation unit, said sending a naked picture of a person under-18 was "distribution of an indecent image".
The officer told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire she had recently warned young couple about "sexting" after the girl sent her boyfriend a photo of her breasts.
However, she added that the force did not want to criminalise children and would consider each case individually.
