    • The Chancellor is expected to give the go-ahead to two major transport schemes, including a long-awaited one for West Yorkshire, in the budget tomorrow
    • Police investigating an alleged sexual assault on an eight-year-old girl in Leeds have released more details about witnesses they want to trace  
    • A body's been found next to the canal in Dewsbury. Police were called to Ravensthorpe just after 09:00 yesterday and say they're working to establish the identity of the person

  6. Witness appeal over alleged Leeds city centre sex assault on girl

    Police investigating an alleged sexual assault on an eight-year-old girl in Leeds have released more details about witnesses they want to trace

    The incident happened in Greggs on the Headrow on the afternoon of Friday 12 February. 

     A 34-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail. 

    West Yorkshire Police are looking for a man and two women who were in the bakers at the time and who are shown on CCTV images.

  7. Watch: Happy Valley finale hits our screens this evening

    The second series of the West Yorkshire-based BBC thriller Happy Valley reaches its finale tonight.

    The climax of the first series attracted an audience of nearly eight million, and the conclusion of the gripping drama could reach similar figures tonight.

  9. Meningitis B petition launched by Leeds dad to be discussed in Parliament

    Families of children affected by Meningitis B - including a West Yorkshire dad - will tell MPs today why they want the UK's vaccination programme to be extended to older children. 

    The issue is being considered by Parliament after more than 800,000 people signed an online petition.

    The petition was launched by Lee Booth, from Leeds, whose daughter was deemed too old to have the vaccine.

  12. Listen: Public consultation into local A&E services gets under way

    A public consultation into a shake-up of Accident and Emergency services in Huddersfield and Halifax finally gets under way today.

    Clinical Commissioning Groups say their preferred option is to open a new emergency centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax for people with life-threatening injuries or illnesses - but there's also a campaign to save the A&E at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

  14. Town to take on Hull City in Under-21 Premier League semi-final

    Huddersfield Town Under-21s host Hull City in the semi-final of the Premier League Cup tonight.

    Hull City were confirmed as the Terriers' semi-final opponent after the Tigers recorded a 3-1 quarter-final win over hosts Millwall at the Den in south London.

    The winners will play the victor of the other semi-final between Liverpool and West Ham on Wednesday evening in the two-legged Under-21 Premier League Cup Final.
