A fire has broken out at a Devon pub, spreading to neighbouring buildings.

The fire broke out at the Twyford Inn, Tiverton, at about 10:30 BST.

The blaze then spread into the roof spaces of three terraced properties, the fire service said. There were no reports of anyone inside or any injuries.

Smoke was reported blowing across the nearby M5, which is near the town. Concerns about asbestos in the building have been raised.

Devon County Highways Control said it had been asked to close the town's Bampton Street.
