Open water specialist Jack Burnell became the first British swimmer to qualify for the Olympics after finishing fifth at last year's World Championships, but tonight it's the turn of the pool swimmers to book places for Rio.

Adam Peaty, 100m breaststroke World champion, is the headline act on the first night of finals, but fellow world medallists James Guy (400m freestyle), Jazz Carlin (200m freestyle) and Scotland's Hannah Miley (400m individual medley) are all in contention for the Games.

All the action is live on BBC Radio 5 Live sports extra from 6:30pm.

Champions League QF second leg, Real Madrid v Wolfsburg (19:45 BST)

    Zinedine Zidane

They are the most successful club in European Cup/Champions League history but Real Madrid have it all to do as they seek an 11th victory in the competition.

Real must overturn a 2-0 deficit against Wolfsburg in the second leg of their last-eight tie at the Bernabeu.

Real coach Zinedine Zidane has urged his side to be patient.

"There are a lot of messages about firing ourselves up but we need the opposite - we have to use our heads. We're not going to win the game in 10 or 15 minutes, and they could really complicate things if they score a goal.

    Read our match preview here.

  7. Step forward, lucky number nine

    Football

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has made an eighth coaching change of the season by firing Walter Novellino, with Davide Ballardini his replacement.

Novellino won one point from his four games and leaves with Palermo in the Serie A drop zone with six games left.

And we thought the managerial merry-go-round was a bit nuts in England...

  8. Un-Nooh misses 147 - again

    Snooker

Once is unfortunate, twice is downright careless...

Thailand's Thepchaiya Un-Nooh has missed the final black of a 147 attempt for the second time this season during World Championship qualifying.

The world number 35 rattled the jaw of the pocket against Anthony McGill in the fourth frame of their final qualifying round to level at 2-2.

The miss cost him an £8,500 bonus, plus the £1,000 highest break prize.

He also missed the black on 140 against Neil Robertson in the third round of the UK Championship in December.

The 30-year-old later claimed he did not know that there was a £44,000 prize for a maximum.

  9. PSG want return on investment - Blanc

Champions League QF second leg, Man City v PSG (19:45 BST)

    Laurent Blanc

Paris St-Germain boss Laurent Blanc says "it would be a new era for French football" if his side knock out Manchester City in the Champions League later.

PSG, who beat Chelsea in the last 16, have been eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the competition in the previous three seasons.

"It would make it a real breakthrough. But that is not enough. Ultimately, the club's objective is to win the Champions League," Blanc said.

"There will be expectations until we win it. A lot of investment has been made. We have to show we are making progress."

  10. Question of Sport teaser answer

    A Question of Sport Teaser

Our Question of Sport teaser for the day was 'Who are the six Man City players to have scored two or more goals in this season’s Champions League?'

How did you get on? The answers are Sergio Aguero, Wilfried Bony, Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva and Raheem Sterling.

  11. Stick or twist?

Champions League QF second leg, Man City v PSG (19:45 BST)

    Manuel Pellegrini

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says his side will not play for a scoreless draw in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final against Paris St-Germain.

A 0-0 draw at the Etihad would send City through on the away goals rule after it finished 2-2 in the Paris first leg last Wednesday.

"We are a team that is prepared to score goals. If we prepare to play 0-0 I think we lose," said Pellegrini.

If City progress, they will be only the second Premier League side - after Chelsea in 2014 - to reach the semi-final stage of the competition since 2012.

But Pellegrini added: "I am not thinking about that. If we arrive at the semi-finals with this group it would be a very good achievement. But we wouldn't just be happy with that.

Watch Dan Walker and guests Jason Roberts and Matt Elliott preview the tie here.

  12. Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 England Women

    Euro 2017 qualifiers

It's still goalless in the Lionesses' game in Zenica, although Jordan Nobbs has gone close for the visitors, along with Gemma Davison.

There's about 20 minutes left in this one.

  13. Ibrahimovic 'wants to show more'

Champions League QF second leg, Man City v PSG (19:45 BST)

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

If rumours are to be believed, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be playing in the Premier League next season and we'll get a close-up look at his immense talent later as his Paris St-Germain side take on Manchester City in the Champions League.

Ibrahimovic scored and missed a penalty in the 2-2 first leg draw in Paris last week and he will be the biggest threat to City's hopes of reaching the last four.

PSG boss Laurent Blanc is expecting the Swede to be more clincal at the Etihad

"We are surprised when he misses a chance. He is demanding of himself. He wants to show more of himself," Blanc said.

"All I can say is that if we create as many chances for him this time then his conversion rate will be higher. We had big chances. He missed a penalty but he still scored, remember."

  14. BreakingNolan steps down as Orient manager

    Football

Leyton Orient have stripped player-manager Kevin Nolan of his coaching responsibilities, placing Andy Hessenthaler in charge of the side.

Nolan, 33, has won seven of his 15 games since joining the O's in January.

Orient have taken one point from their last four games but remain two points off the League Two play-off places.

"We believe Kevin will be able to make a bigger impact without the distraction of managerial duties," Orient chief executive Alessandro Angelieri said.

  15. Alonso not yet cleared for China

    Formula 1

Fernando Alonso says he does not know whether he will be able to race in this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix.

The McLaren driver was ruled out of the last race in Bahrain because of a broken rib sustained in his terrifying accident at the season-opening race in Australia.

The two-time champion said: "Until I get the all-clear from the doctors to race we cannot assume anything.

  18. British cricketer dies 'after being shot'

An aspiring British cricketer has died after reportedly being shot by robbers in Trinidad.

Adrian St John, 22, who played for the Chris Gayle Academy in London, is understood to have died on Sunday.

West Indies batsman Gayle tweeted: "Such sad news to hear. My condolences to his family & friends. Adrian St John was the captain of the academy."

Local media reports suggest Mr St John was attacked after he had stopped his car to pick up two friends, and was shot as he drove away after they had been robbed.

  19. HT: Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 England Women

    Euro 2017 qualifiers

No goals to report from England's trip to Bosnia-Herzegovinia in group seven of the Euro 2017 qualifiers.

The Lionesses are currently second in the pool, one point behind leaders Belgium.

  20. Boss keeps job despite racial slur

    Football

    Marko Nikolic

A top-flight manager in Slovenia will keep his job despite making a racial slur against one of his own players.

Olimpija Ljubljana boss Marko Nikolic used the term against Blessing Eleke after the Nigerian scored an equaliser.

Nikolic felt Eleke celebrated too long after levelling for the Slovenian league leaders at home to Zavrc.

The Serb said he made "an emotional reaction" and "never intended to offend the player racially".
