Malaysia Air passports 'should have been run through Interpol'

Officials investigating a missing Malaysia Airlines jet are checking CCTV footage of two of its passengers who were travelling on stolen passports.

John Magaw is a former under secretary for the US Transport and Security Administration, and former director of the US Secret Service.

He told BBC News "when you are screening passports you just have to run it through Interpol, and it would have come back that it was stolen".
