Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust said the tests, which take a child's height and weight into account, followed "nationally set guildelines" to ensure children are "growing and developing at a healthy rate".

The parents of Jack Houston says parents are the victims of witchhunts by schools, which aren't providing enough physical education and good teaching about good diets.

Quote Message: We understand some children may fall into a category by a small margin, however our priority is to ensure Oxfordshire children are growing healthily. from Spokesman Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

    Chipping Norton Hospital

The council said intermediate care is being provided but nursing care could not be provided in the short term until it increases the number of full-time staff from 11 to 15... but that process could take five months.

Quote Message: We've heard all morning about bed blocking and yet there are 14 beds there that could be used for sub-acute care that are not being used. It's a disgrace actually. from Cllr Hilary Hibbert-Biles

  16. Pupils at all-girls schools 'have greater risk of eating disorders'

    Chris Brown

    BBC News

Girls appear to be more at risk of developing eating disorders such as anorexia if they go to all-girls' schools where the condition could spread like a contagious disease.

    Anorexia

That's a finding of a study into eating disorders carried out by a joint British and Swedish team involving scientists from Oxford University.

Girls at schools with higher proportions of female students, and high proportions of university-educated parents, were more likely to be diagnosed with an eating disorder than girls at schools with lower proportions of female students and university-educated parents.

Quote Message: Unfortunately, this study can’t tell us what it is about schools that affects the rates of eating disorders: it might be an unintentional effect of the aspirational culture of some schools that makes eating disorders more likely; it might be that eating disorders are contagious and can spread within a school. from Dr Helen Bould Child and adolescent psychiatrist, Oxford University
