Harriet Harman attacks Westminster sexism

Harriet Harman has suggested Gordon Brown did not make her his deputy prime minister because of her gender.

In an attack on sexism in Westminster, Labour's deputy leader said she it was "strange" she was not given the title in 2007 and that women still did not have equality in the UK.

Damian McBride, a former aide to Mr Brown, said claims Ms Harman was sidelined, was "utter bilge".
