Scottish independence: Campaigners cast their votes

People in Scotland have begun voting on whether the country should stay in the UK or become an independent nation.

Voters will answer "Yes" or "No" to the referendum question: "Should Scotland be an independent country?"

Campaigners from both camps - Nicola Sturgeon and Alex Salmond of the Scottish National Party, and Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling from Better Together - have all been casting their votes.
