  4. Jack White shares his photography skills

Jack White and Clown shots taken by Jack White

Jack White has turned photographer and shared a series of Polaroids - including this Mick Jagger portrait and creepy clown.

White, who took all his photos under the brief "A Beautiful Thing I Saw Today", said there was "a romantic feeling of pulling a photograph out of a Polaroid camera."

He's one of the snappers published online for the launch of the Impossible Project, featuring shots produced on the new I-1 instant camera using original Polaroid film.

"Photography using mechanical means is a beautiful art form," said White.

"Digital pictures are very portable and easy to make happen, but you can't hold the photo in your hand, or put it in a family album.

"There's a romantic feeling of pulling a photograph out of a Polaroid camera, holding it your hands and showing it to others. It can't be replaced or replicated."

  5. Morrissey attacks Donald Trump over Orlando shooting reaction

    Morrissey

Singer Morrissey has reacted with anger over US presidential candidate Donald Trump's reaction to the the worst mass shooting in recent US history at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

The attack by Omar Mateen left 49 people dead and dozens wounded.

Following the massacre, Trump told CNN: "If people in that room had guns with the bullets flying in the opposite direction right at him... right at his head, you wouldn’t have had the same tragedy."

Writing on the True to You website, Morrissey said: "This, of course, is his way of avoiding any words of support to the Orlando gay community (it is their own fault for going into a nightclub without hand grenades).

"Donald Thump would therefore probably claim that the massacred children of Sandy Hook would still be alive today if only they'd had the common sense to carry sawn-off shotguns to school. The Thump response to Orlando is therefore anti-gay and pro-gun possession."

Some pop news for you now - as Steps star Claire Richards has revealed she's been working on her own solo material.

However, the singer told ITV's Lorraine that the music has less in common with Steps hits and more with The Carpenters.

"It's really good. It's really exciting and I'm enjoying it. This phase for me is something really different," said Claire.

"It's not the same as Steps. My idol is Karen Carpenter - I'd sing Karen Carpenter songs all day if I could. It's probably more along that kind of line.

"It's taking me a while to find my sound and my way, but hopefully fingers crossed it will happen. It's something I've always wanted to do."

    Claire Richards

Talk also turned to Steps and whether the band would be marking the 20th anniversary of debut single 5,6,7,8 next year with some gigs.

"I really don't know. Our mantra is always 'never say, never'," said Claire.

"I think we got ourselves into a trap years ago when we said we'd never do it again. It would be lovely to do something again."

"When I went into the studio with the first record... Even though I had a record deal, I still wasn't sure whether my songs were any good," he told BBC Breakfast.
