The event is organised by the Oxford University Labour Club and begins at 20:00 in Cornmarket Street.

Quote Message: Her death this week marks a dark chapter in the history of our party and our democracy, and we deplore the hatred which lay in the motivation for her murder. We will be joining together in a gesture of solidarity and love for Jo’s family and for the Labour family, and to remember the importance of fighting hatred and violence in our own communities and across the globe. from Oxford University Labour Club

  6. Campaigners to ignore French ban on aid convoy for Calais migrants

Campaigners in Oxford who planned to travel to Calais in convoy tomorrow to deliver aid for refugees have described a French ban on their plans as "inhumane".

More than 20 people in six vehicles from Oxford were booked to join another 200 cars, lorries and vans from around the country making the aid convoy.

French authorities in Calais obtained a judicial ban on the British-organised convoy, but campaigners say they will still make the journey.

Quote Message: Oxford Convoy to Calais is determined to get the aid collected to refugees that desperately need it. We will be driving to Whitehall and making the journey to Dover. At a time when racism is being stoked up, it is essential that we make a stand. from Oxford Convoy to Calais

  7. Dancing to the same beat brings children together

An Oxford University study shows children who dance together, get on together.

    Dancing children

Children from different groups were lined up wearing headphones, facing each other, and asked to dance to music played to them.

Moving in tune with each other brought them closer together, breaking down barriers and reducing prejudices, the researchers say.
