Rape victim: 'I felt I wouldn't be believed, I was drunk'

Ched Evans' rape conviction has highlighted struggles that meet rape victims who are attacked when they have been drinking.

A 5 live listener spoke of her decision not to report her attack because she was intoxicated when it happened. The victim chose not to go to the police through fear of being told "You were drunk, so it's your fault". A BBC producer has spoken her words for her, in order to protect her anonymity.

She said: "I felt like I'd asked for it but I hadn't, I'd said no. So obviously it wasn't my fault and I shouldn't have felt guilty."
