The Forth Bridge opened to the public on 4 March 1890, 125 years ago.
The cantilever railway bridge which spans the Firth of Forth from nine miles (14 km) west of Edinburgh city centre to North Queensferry in Fife, is one of Scotland's most famous and most-loved landmarks.
The anniversary was marked with a fly-past by a Spitfire and an RAF Typhoon.
