The BBC has visited one of the city's vets to see one owner get his dog microchipped.

Hapless burglars have been caught stealing property from a house in Emersons Green - while the owners slept upstairs.
Police say two of the men can be seen in the covert footage and are appealing for anyone who recognises them to come forward.
A number of electrical items, including three laptops, a handbag, wallets and a set of car keys were stolen during the burglary which happened at 3am on Friday, 25 March .

Despite the off-pitch row between Rotherham manager Neil Warnock and Bristol City's Lee Johnson, the Millers boss was really impressed by City's "fantastic" new stand.
"That was really brilliant for me, I could hear everything I shouted on and they could hear me - usually I get drowned [out] at Bristol," he said.
"I just hope they can put some hot showers in dressing room when they finish the stand".

Eleven-year-old Finn Browne from Bristol has come 10th in the World Sport Stacking Championships in his age category in Germany.
He took up the sport around a year ago, which involves stacking plastic cups in specific sequences, as quickly as possible.
He came in to the BBC Radio Bristol studios this morning to show Emma Britton how it's done.
The group, which includes Bristol's Christopher Jefferies, says a delay in bringing into law a key part of the Royal Charter agreement is a "betrayal".
Mr Jefferies was wrongly arrested during the investigation into the murder of Jo Yeates in Bristol in 2010.
The change was one of the commitments made after the Leveson Inquiry into press standards and was passed by MPs.
Bristol to Bath railway works: 10,000 tonnes of new ballast being laid
This is one of the reasons why trains can't run between Bristol and Bath this week.

Now after a lot of work it's ready to re-open and we're told it's bigger and better than before.
The BBC got an exclusive preview of the park in Doncaster Road by some of the children who will use it.

The playground known as The Ranch opened in Southmead about 60 years ago. At the time of the fire many people were seen crying in the street.
Neil Warnock says Lee Johnson a 'disgrace' over intimidation comments
"Like father like son" - the words of Rotherham manager Neil Warnock who was none too happy with Bristol City manager Lee Johnson.
After the game, Neil Warnock, brandishing a copy of the newspaper, told BBC Radio Sheffield that his comments were a "disgrace" and accused him of "inciting" the crowd.
Warnock has a history with City and especially Lee's father, Gary, who previously managed the Robins. Back in 2009, when at Crystal Palace, Warnock's side had a goal controversially disallowed leading Warnock to accusing City of "cheating".
But in its report, the Care Quality Commission said the North Bristol NHS Trust still needed to reduce delays there, free up more beds and store patient records more securely.

Southmead Hospital emergency care rating improves - but could still do better
Southmead Hospital's A&E department is improving, according to the health watchdog.
They say it is now rated as "good" after two previous inspections said the department was "inadequate".
