The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust is encouraging birdwatchers across Yorkshire to count their local woodcock from now until 30 June. They say there's been a worrying decline in the numbers of breeding Woodcock over the last 40 years.

The largely nocturnal bird can be hard to spot. Males conduct a distinctive courtship flight, accompanied by a shrill call, known as ‘roding’ at dawn or dusk.

The Bradford West MP Naz Shah has spoken out about the Islamic State group and how families here in West Yorkshire have been radicalised.
Ms Shah has spoken exclusively to BBC Radio Leeds ahead of a conference in Bradford this afternoon addressing the issue of radicalisation.
She believes local communities have been "turned against one another" when it comes to discussing terrorism, with muslim parents afraid to talk about it with their children in case they're accused of putting them at risk.
Yorkshire Carnegie: Team captain and ex-England player retires

Yorkshire Carnegie captain and former England player Chris Jones has been forced to retire at the age of 35.
Jones, who played as lock and flanker, made his England debut in the 2004 Six Nations and picked up 12 England caps.
He made 40 appearances for Carnegie before suffering concussion against Nottingham in April.

Ward, 22, has suffered with a series of injuries since 2015 and is currently sidelined with a knee problem.
