A six-week public consultation has started on the next stage of Cherwell District Council's development strategy.

Last year the authority formally adopted its Local Plan, which sets out where building can take place.

Now it is asking for views on the second part of the plan, which identifies smaller sites to provide open spaces, recreation, employment and rural housing.

Copies of the consultation documents are available to view at public libraries and council offices, or can be viewed on the authority's website.

Tickets for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley haven't yet gone on sale, but the Football League has announced that Oxford United have been given an initial allocation of 40,000 tickets.

Ticket prices range from £20-£60, with half price for concessions.

Police arrested eight men at the Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final second leg between Oxford United and Millwall last night at the Kassasm Stadium.

Affray, criminal damage, possessing an offensive weapon, assault and injury, possession of a Class A drug, and attempting to enter a football match while drunk were among the reasons for arrest.

One police horse suffered a cut to its leg, while another had a bottle smashed over it and his rider.

Football supporters at the Oxford United and Millwall game last night "definitely targeted" police horses, according to the head of Thames Valley Police's Mounted Section.

Sgt Spencer Kervin says officers and the horses were exposed to "extreme violence".

• There is a lane partially blocked on the A34 southbound between Peartree and Botley

A diabetic woman who has been sleeping in her car for months after losing her rented home is a story that charities are coming across more often, according to homeless charity Aspire Oxford.

BBC Radio Oxford heard the story of Ann, who is waiting for a council house after her husband died and she lost money during toxic relationship with someone she met online.

Oxford City Council proposals to tax all rental properties in Oxford has been described as a tax on the private rental sector, according to the National Landlords Association.

Ann (not her real name) can't afford a deposit for a flat and is on a waiting list for a social house from Cherwell District Council, but says she needs to stay in the area as she loves her job.
