Share prices in Bradford-based Morrisons have risen almost 6% today after the supermarket chain struck a deal with the online retailer Amazon to allow customers greater access to its products on the internet.

Norman Pickavance, a former Morrisons communications director who now chairs a taskforce on retail productivity, says the new deal could present a major challenge for established online rivals.

"It's Tesco's worst nightmare. Tesco currently has 40% of the UK online industry through sales but this deal between Morrisons and Amazon is reallygoing to open that to some threat," says Mr Pickavance.

Bradford City striker Steve Davies has undergone a scan today after injuring his knee during Saturday's win at Blackpool.

Manager Phil Parkinson admits it's a huge setback for a player who's only just returning from a previous injury.

"It's such an innocuous incident when you look back at it. It's a real shame and it's a real blow for him and us," Parkinson told BBC West Yorkshire Sport.

After Guiseley's Ollie Norburn lobbed Tom King from the throw-in, Braintree expected to be allowed a walk-in goal. But Mark Bower's side played on, and the National League game finished 1-1.

In a statement, Guiseley chairman Phil Rogerson says: "Having had time to sleep (or not) on the incident on Saturday, myself, Mark and the club find the situation most regrettable and not in line with the general ethos of Guiseley AFC. Fair play is and always has been at the heart of the club."

Work colleagues of Leeds woman Geraldine Newman, who was found murdered along with her two children at their home in Allerton Bywater earlier this month, have attended her funeral in Holyhead, Anglesey.

Staff members from Wilko in Castleford travelled to Wales for the funerals of Mrs Newman, 51, daughter Shannon, 11, and son Shane, six.

The store's Castleford branch was closed for two hours to coincide with the ceremony to mark colleagues' "love and respect".

A Wilko spokesperson said: "This is a hard time for everyone and our thoughts are with Gerry’s family and friends at this difficult time."

When BBC Look North's Harry Gration and Paul Hudson agreed to walk through Yorkshire on a three-legged challenge for Sport Relief, it's probably fair to say they hadn't really thought how tough it would be. 

There are days to go now until they set off on their 120-mile walk, and their training is starting to bite.

BBC Look North's Cathy Killick's been watching their progress on their first off-road trial.

England's first coast-to-coast canoe trail is being developed connecting the River Mersey with the Humber via Leeds.

The 150-mile route will use the Leeds-Liverpool Canal to link Liverpool on the west coast with Goole in Yorkshire over the next five years, project manager Greg Brookes told Inside Out.

Community hubs will also be set up along the way.

One lane's currently closed on the M62 westbound between J33, A162 (Ferrybridge Services) and J32a A1(M), because of a broken down vehicle.

Leeds United midfielder Liam Bridcutt (pictured left) is set to return against his former club Brighton this evening, having missed the 1-1 draw with Fulham last week due to personal reasons.

It's pretty cold out there in West Yorkshire today so you probably won't be surprised that the Met Office has now issued a yellow "be aware" warning for snow.

They say rain, spreading from the west, is expected to fall fall as snow above 200-300m for a time this evening, giving a risk of temporary snowfall accumulations of one to two centimetres - and perhaps up to five centimetres over high ground above 400m. 

There'll also be a risk of patchy ice where rain, sleet and snow fall on frozen surfaces, the Met Office.

Huddersfield back-row forward Oliver Roberts has signed a new four-year deal with the Super League side.

Roberts, 21, joined the Giants from Bradford Bulls in October 2014 and made his debut for the club in the opening game of the 2016 season.

In a statement on the club's website, head coach Paul Anderson says: "We have always been a club that has given chances to young British players who are hungry to succeed."

The funeral of Leeds mother Geraldine Newman and her children, Shannon, 11, and Shane, six, has been held in Wales.

It came almost exactly a month after they were found murdered at their home in Allerton Bywater. Mrs Newman, 51, a branch manager for Wilko in Castleford, was found downstairs in their house on 2 February, while the two children were discovered upstairs.

The children's father, Paul Newman, 42, from Normanton, is suspected of killing them and was found dead at cliffs on Anglesey the same day.

Today's funeral took place in Holyhead, Anglesey, where Mrs Newman's parents live.
