    It's been a busy day with a murder in Northampton, flooding in Kettering and new signings for the Cobblers.

    In the meantime, Northamptonshire's game against Yorkshire is in the Ballance. The home side's Gary is currently unbeaten on 59 as his team attempt to chase down Northants' 310-7.

  4. Woman stabbed in arm at Co-op store

    A man stabbed a female member of staff in the arm with a knife and then stole meat products at a Co-op store in Northampton.

    The incident happened at the store on Oulton Rise at 09:30 on Monday. The police have only given details today. They say the man entered the store and collected a basket which he filled with a number of meat products.

    As he attempted to leave the store, he was confronted by a member of staff. He lifted a kitchen knife and threatened her before stabbing her in the arm causing a small cut.

    The man is described as white, in his early 20s, aroumd 5ft 4ins (1.63m) tall and of medium build. He was wearing a scarf and black jeans and spoke with a local accent.

    Alex Revell has been talking to me about signing a two-year contract with Northampton Town.

    Cobblers' manager Rob Page says he's a striker "of proven quality and experience".

  6. Knife amnesty in Northamptonshire

    Northamptonshire Police is urging people to hand in knives and other items which could be used as weapons during an amnesty which runs from 17-26 June.

    People wanting to get rid of a knife or a bladed item is being asked to make an appointment with the police by calling 101. Officers will be available for collections at pre-arranged appointment times on Friday 17, Sunday 19, Friday 24 and Sunday 26 June, between 19:00 and 23:00.

  7. Buildings sales could affect 220 public sector staff in Northampton

    About 220 public sector staff would be affected by the sale of five buildings currently owned by Northamptonshire County Council.

    The council has voted to approve a sell-off programme as it prepares to move services to the new £53m Project Angel headquarters.

    Its Guildhall Road and Northwood Centre premises are currently leased to third parties.

    The three other buildings - Springfield, Northwood Centre and Norborough House - are all used by children's services and employ 90, 59 and 71 staff respectively.

  9. Northampton Town: Raheem Handley is latest signing

    Hot on the heels of Alex Revell earlier today, Northampton Town have announced the signing of Raheem Hanley on a two-year contract.

    The 22-year-old left back comes from Swansea City and will join up with the club on 1 July.

    The England under 19 international was previously with Blackburn Rovers. After joining Swansea in January 2014, He signed a contract with the Premier League side last summer before leaving the Liberty Stadium at the end of the 2015/16 season.

  10. Flats cordoned off at scene of murder investigation

    A police cordon surrounds the flats in Patterdale Walk, Northampton. Forensic scientists are continuing their work inside.

    Outside police stand guard. They've been here since 05:00 when a body was discovered in suspicious circumstances.

    Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

  11. Travel: Flooding causes severe delays in Kettering

    The A4300 Lower Street in Kettering is blocked and there is queuing traffic in both directions because of flooding.

    The area affected is between the A6003 Northfield Avenue junction and the A4300 Northall Street junction.

  12. Northampton Town: Cobblers 'beat off competition' to sign Revell

    Northampton Town manager Rob Page says new signing, striker Alex Revell, "is exactly the type of character" they want at the club.

    Revell has been signed on a two-year contract.

  13. Police guard murder investigation scene

    I'm on my way to Patterdale Walk in the Boothville area of Northampton where police discovered the body of a man early this morning.

    Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are helping the police with their enquiries.

  14. Four people arrested after body found

    Northamptonshire Police say four people have been arrested after a body was found at a property in Northampton.  Detectives are treating the death as murder.

    An investigation by officers from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit has begun.

    The body of a man was found at around 05:00 this morning at a property on Patterdale Walk in the Boothville area of Northampton.

    A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a man was discovered at a property in Northampton.

    Police officers attended the property in Patterdale Walk, Boothville, at around 05:00 and discovered the body.

    The cause of death is not yet known but the death is being treated as suspicious.

  16. Cricket: 300+ for Duckett inspired Steelbacks

    Ben Duckett smashed 121 as Northants reached 310-7 in their Royal London Cup contest against Yorkshire a few moments ago.

    He was supported by Alex Wakely (71) and Stephen Crook (46 not out).

    It's a decent total for the Tykes to chase.

  17. Search for missing Dean Humphrey: Police issue fresh appeal

    Missing Dean Humphrey has not been seen for 11 days.

    The 29-year-old was last seen in the Cliftonville Road area of Northampton at about 3.20pm on Friday, 3 June.

    Today, Northamptonshire Police have re-issued an appeal for help finding him.

    Mr Humphrey, pictured below, is described as black, about 5ft 4in (1.63m) tall, with a medium build.

  18. Hip operation success for 101-year-old man

    A 101-year-old man has become one of the oldest people ever to get back on their feet after having had an emergency operation on a broken hip at Kettering Hospital.

    George Saxby, from Irchester, ran the family butcher's shop on Rushden's High Street for 36 years until 1982.

    He was rushed to hospital on 7 May after a fall at home left him with a hip fracture. Following surgery, he can now walk using a frame.

  19. Northampton Town: Revell signing 'signal of intent' for club

    Signing someone like Alex Revell is a signal of intent for the Cobblers.

    He's the first player to arrive this summer with real experience of playing in League One and the Championship, and manager Rob Page will be hoping he can be more like the striker he was at Rotherham, than the one who's struggled during the past 12 months.

    At Rotherham, he was promoted from League Two and League One in successive seasons. But let's not get ahead of ourselves...

  20. Northampton Town: Cobblers sign Alex Revell

    Northampton Town have signed striker Alex Revell on a two-year contract.

    He has experience at Championship and League 1 level having played for Brighton, Southend, Leyton Orient and Rotherham.

    Revell spent the 2015/16 season in the Championship with Cardiff City and MK Dons, as well as a loan spell with League One Champions Wigan Athletic, scoring six times.
