Oxford United Women have been granted a three-year female regional talent club tier 1 licence.

The club is one of only 13 in the country to gain the status.

The owners of Didcot power station have announced a new demolition company will come in to "assist" in recovery work.

RWE Npower has not named the new company which will be brought in to help with the controlled demolition work planned for the partially collapsed boiler house.

Coleman & Company, which was leading the demolition work at Didcot A power station station when it collapsed killing one man and leaving three others buried under the rubble, will "still play a role on the site", RWE added.

An MEP who dishonestly claimed about £100,000 in expenses with a "sustained pattern of stealing" has been jailed for four years.

Peter Skinner, 56, who was Labour MEP for the South East from 1999 to 2014, was found guilty of three charges after a trial at Southwark Crown Court.

He claimed thousands of pounds for support staff which actually funded jewellery, restaurants and hotel stays.

The RIBA South Regional Awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects were handed out at a ceremony last night.

Oxford's two MPs have joined calls for further resignations at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust after a "shocking" watchdog report said it repeatedly failed to address serious concerns about patient safety.

Roberts' 16-year-old brother Ben died after he was hit by a car in October.

An application will have to be made to the justice secretary for any future release of Martin Nganga, 47, into the community.

He was found guilty last May by a jury of arson with intent to endanger life, after setting fire to a house in Blackbird Leys.

Three fire engines were rushed to a shed in Abingdon on Wednesday following reports of a rapidly developing fire.

A2Dominion's construction of the first phase of the North West Bicester development began in April 2014.
