Noah Serra-Morrison death: Grandmother heard him cry down phone
The grandmother of a baby boy who suffered a fatal head injury has told how he cried down the phone to her the night before he died.
Mother Ronnie Tayler-Morrison, 21 and her partner Hardeep Hunjan, 26, deny the murder of 13-month-old Noah Serra-Morrison in Luton on 20 November. They also deny causing or allowing the death of a child and cruelty by wilful neglect.

Maria Serra, Noah's grandmother, told the jury how the last time she saw her grandson alive was two weeks before his death. He had come to stay at her home for a weekend, she told the jury.
Luton Crown Court has heard the death "could not have been an accident".

I've been looking into the "sinkhole" in Leighton Buzzard. Having spoken to a sinkhole expert, we might just have to settle on "hole".

Dr Clive Edmonds told me, after some research into the location, that the hole in Jupiter Drive "is not the right geology for a true sinkhole" because the earth is mudstone/clay, which is not soluble as it needs to be for a sinkhole to form.
"Looking back at old OS maps dating from 1879 reveals that the development is built over an old Brick Field that contained clay pits, ponds, kilns etc. Therefore it is possible that the hole relates to a washout of loose backfill within the old clay pits," Dr Edmonds said.

Earlier we got a message from a resident of Jupiter Drive in Leighton Buzzard who said a "sinkhole" had opened up in the green area behind their house.
I was despatched to the scene and this is what I found - it's definitely a hole.
We're in touch with Central Bedfordshire Council to find out whether they're aware of this, and what it might be!

Tattoo artist Adam Carrick said that after the impact he tried to help the bus driver. "[We] managed to pull the door open and try and rip the seat back to get the gentleman on the aisle," he said.
Seventeen people were injured, 15 of whom were taken to hospital after the crash on Saturday afternoon.
Luton MP says Jo Cox tributes 'especially emotional'
A vigil is being held this afternoon in front of Luton's Town Hall in memory of Labour MP Jo Cox, who was killed in her constituency in West Yorkshire on Thursday.

Luton Borough Council says anyone who wishes to pay their respects to Mrs Cox is invited to attend.
A Book of Condolence will be opened at the vigil then placed in the Town Hall reception and is also available online for people to sign.

Judges heard that Charles II granted the baronetcy of Stichill - a village near Kelso - to Robert Pringle of Stichill and the "male heirs from his body" in January 1683.
Seven judges analysed evidence at hearings of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London. They concluded from DNA evidence that Simon Pringle was not the "heir male" of the 1st baronet but that Murray Pringle was the grandson of the 8th baronet and was therefore entitled to succeed.

Two charged after Abbots Langley shooting

Two men have been charged following last week's "large-scale disturbance" in High Elms Lane, Abbots Langley, on 12 June in which a man was shot and two others injured.

Sharriff Dacres, 21, of Cotterells, Hemel Hempstead, has been charged with attempted murder and Alexander Dacres, 26, of Tudor Avenue, Watford, with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and two charges of possessing drugs.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at St Albans Crown Court next month.
Milton Keynes MP 'was wrong' when voting against same-sex marriage

A Milton Keynes MP has said he was wrong when he voted against same-sex marriage in 2013.
Mark Lancaster, the Conservative MP for Milton Keynes North, tweeted this morning that he attended his "first same-sex marriage celebrations" on Saturday and described it as "one of the most loving" events he's been to.

One of those injured in a crash on the Luton busway on Saturday has been speaking of the moment the two buses collided.
Seventeen people were injured, with 15 taken to hospital .
Adam Carrick, a tattoo artist, said it all happened very suddenly.
He said: "I got thrown halfway down the aisle of the bus; got up to check everyone was all right; tried to get everybody back off the aisle because there was glass everywhere. The young lady in front of me started having an epileptic fit."

A Belgian cat which disappeared while "holidaying" in the UK has been returned to its owner after 10 months.
Gizmo was brought to High Wycombe temporarily from his home in Silly, Belgium, by owner Milene Letertre.
He went missing in August and despite numerous searches, the microchipped cat was not found and Miss Letertre had to return to Belgium without him.
Last week Gizmo was finally found in High Wycombe and his owner came over and took him home.
