  11. Standing ovation in the Commons

Speaker Bercow wraps up the tributes by getting everyone in the Commons to shout "aye" in support of the motion to remember Jo Cox.

  13. She had a vision of a better world - Holly Lynch, MP for Halfax

Holly Lynch, MP for Hailfax, says this will be the hardest speech she will ever have to give, but it was easy to write because there was so much good to say about Mrs Cox.

    Holly Lynch

"She had a vision of the world better than the one that has taken her from us," Ms Lynch says, describing her as "collegiate" and happy to work "across the benches" to make things better.

Ms Lynch worked as a Labour whip and says Mrs Cox "wasn't the easiest to whip" because she often put her children's bedtime ahead of late night votes.

    Rachel Reeves in the commons

She says Mrs Cox spent a day shadowing her before she was elected and it was clear "Jo had a way with people from all walks of life".

When the seat of Batley and Spen opened up, Ms Reeves says Jo felt she had a responsibility to stand.

The Labour MP says she was in that constituency the day after her death when "a woman came over to me and said she hadn't known Jo but her death had made her want to be a bit more like her - a better mother, better wife, better person".

Ms Reeves breaks down at the end of her speech as she tries to say that "Batley and Spen will elect another MP but no-one will replace a mother".
