The epic challenge comes exactly 10 years after the late amateur athlete Jane Tomlinson CBE embarked on her 4,200 mile ride across America.

  6. Have you seen the Huddersfield Wallaby?

If you live in Huddersfield, keep an eye out for this little fella.

Dave Beaumont spotted this Wallaby in fields behind his house in Slaithwaite at 06:30 this morning.

The Unite union have just clarified they will be meeting next week to discuss their ongoing disputes with First Group

Regional officer Steve Clark told the BBC that if the issues are not resolved then members may be balloted for industrial action, including a possible strike as early as the following week.

    Buses

He estimated that union members accounted for about 90% of the workforce in Bradford, Doncaster, Halifax, Huddersfield, Rotherham, Sheffield and York.

  13. Injury clears path for Brownlees Olympic success

    Brownlee brothers

  15. Elderly driver hurt as car crashes into house in Wakefield

  16. Further bus strikes on the horizon

About 4,000 bus workers for First Group across Yorkshire will be voting on whether they should take industrial action over pay and conditions.

Leeds has already seen a series of strikes in recent months, but this new vote could see drivers and staff across the whole region stage a walk-out.

    Busses

The affected areas will include Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and York.

Interestingly, the union behind the possible action hasn't included Leeds on that list.

Quote Message: There is a feeling that the uncertainty caused by last month's Brexit vote has encouraged management to take advantage of the current situation to roll back on pay and conditions. If that is the case, First Group will have a real battle on its hands." from Steve Clark Unite Regional Officer

We've asked First Group for their reaction and will update you as soon as they get back to us.
