Relive Edmund's brilliant victory

Argentina will be tough but it'll be a great occasion again at home and another opportunity for the British public to see Andy Murray.

To have the opportunity to see Andy play at his best is so special because you don't know when another one like him will come along again. It could be another 100 years.

Britain will be at home for their next Davis Cup tie. Edmund and Andy Murray together seems like a formidable combo.

Since the introduction of the World Group in 1981 there have been six successful title defences by five different nations, Sweden twice (1984-85 and 1997-98), USA (1981-82), West Germany (1988-89), Spain (2008-09) and Czech Republic (2012-13).

Jamie Murray on BBC One: We didn't have Andy in the team, we were away from home, and playing on clay, but the guys really stepped up.

Dom got his first point yesterday and showed his quality and Kyle was awesome in his matches. I think the more established he becomes on the tour his ranking will move up, and there's great things ahead for him.

His forehand in terms of pace and what he can do with it is in the top five of the world but he can always improve his movement.

The slower clay surface helps him but his movement becomes a challenge on faster courts.

But what an example Andy Murray is. He was tall and skinny when he was younger but is now one of the best athletes in the sport.

GB captain Leon Smith on BBC One: "I've seen Kyle develop so much over the years. He's getting better and better and physically he's so much stronger this year.

"His forehand is an unbelievable shot and the way he can pull the trigger makes it such a great weapon. 

"I am sure he will take a lot from going out and winning matches of this intensity.

"It's great for the team, they work so hard, are a close unit and for Kyle to win two rubbers, to get his first Davis Cup wins in the same weekend, is something very special indeed."

Kyle Edmund speaking to BBC Sport's Russell Fuller: "When you're out there you are so in the moment. You're trying to win every point. Lajovic missed the backhand down the line - when you see that you feel so happy.

"You want to win for your country. When you know that is at stake - I'm so pleased that I've won.

"When you play away, and the home player gains momentum the crowd bite into that. The crowd got louder and louder here. It was tough getting broken. 

"I thought my ball speed dropped a little but not a huge amount. I was feeling it at the end but so was he."

There was some tension and Kyle got a little bit tight when serving for the match but overall he was playing so well and to come through the test at the end, top marks.

He was rock-solid at the end there. He's never been in a situation like that before.

It was a gutsy performance and Kyle had faith in his game. He didn't pull back, he stood firm and withstood Lajovic's best games at the end.

That will mean so much that Kyle came through in that sort of pressure. What that could do for his career is amazing.

What an epic display from 21-year-old Kyle Edmund.

That was steely. Very steely. If his win over Janko Tipsarevic was an example of how he can dominate, this was a performance where he showed he had the will to bounce back from a  big setback.

He should have sealed the match at 5-4, but was broken, but then held his nerve in his next service game to take the match to a tie-break.

That, more so than the tie-break, was where he showed that this player in undoubtedly more mature beyond his 21 years.

Under an extraordinary amount of pressure Kyle Edmund has really stepped up in the absence of Andy Murray.

It's the first time they have won a World Group match without their number one player.

What a talent he is and what an education it's been for him. He's found a way to win.
