Travel: Lane closed on A580 Islington into town

Chief Constable offers condolences to family of Mzee Mohammed
Chief Constable of Merseyside Police, Andy Cooke, has said raised tensions in L8 "saddens me greatly" and offered his condolences to the family of Mzee Mohammed.
Mr Cooke and Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson both appealed for a Black Lives Matter march on Saturday to be a peaceful event in memory of the 18-year-old.
The 30-year-old was also questioned on suspicion of acting in a disorderly manner on the Flybe flight to Belfast on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination into the death of Mzee Mohammed at Liverpool One shopping centre yesterday is 'inconclusive', say police investigators.

The 18-year-old died in police custody after being detained by the centre's security staff. Reports said he had been seen with a knife "behaving erratically" before officers were called.
An IPCC statement said further tests will be carried out to help ascertain the cause of Mr Mohammed’s death.

B&M's revenues surge after new store openings
Discount retailer B&M said like-for-like sales growth ground to a halt in the 13 weeks to 25 June, but saw overall revenues surge by 21.5% to £554.8m thanks to a raft of new store openings.

The Liverpool-based firm added that underlying like-for-like sales rose 1.7%, stripping out the impact of new stores on existing nearby outlets.

Five Merseyside men have been arrested during raids in Kirkdale that also uncovered a cannabis farm with more than 200 plants, a shotgun and cash.

The searches were part of an operation to investigate a drugs ring in and around the Stanley Road area, and premises targeted included a newsagents on the corner of Stanley Road and Briar Street, plus houses on Wulstan Street.

The Shadow Home Secretary Andy Burnham has added his voice to calls for the new government to reaffirm its commitment to boosting the northern economy.

Man, 44, arrested over making threats to kill
A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill after an email was sent to the account of Wallasey MP Angela Eagle.
Merseyside Police say they executed a warrant in Paisley in Scotland this morning and arrested a 44-year-old.
He will be questioned by Merseyside detectives today.
