    In the meantime lets look back at five things we didn't know when we woke up this morning:

    • Hull City boss Steve Bruce has a chance of getting the England job
    • There's been an increase in assaults on Hull and East Yorkshire NHS staff
    • Two bridges, one in Selby and one near Scunthorpe, decided to have a day off today causing problems on the trains
    • Beverley's oldest inhabited house dates back to 1330
    • And can you believe it... Our region has been hotter than Athens and Mallorca today

  2. Traffic and travel: Expect long delays on A18 near Scawby

    A lorry has overturned on the roundabout approach where the A15 meets the A18 near Broughton in North Lincolnshire.

    The overturned lorry is obstructing the entrance to the roundabout from Forest Pines towards the M180.

    The driver has minor injuries but road closures around the area are expected to be in place for several hours and heavy traffic is building.

    • A taxi driver in Grimsby has been attacked in the early hours
    • A 55-year-old woman left unscathed after her car ended up balanced on a garden wall in Bridlington
    • The charity which covers Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole hospitals needs people to donate fans
  4. Northern Lincolnshire hospitals need more fans

    The charity that covers Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole hospitals says it needs people to donate fans because of the warm weather. 

    The Health Tree Foundation says it's been inundated with requests from wards to provide cooling fans.

    The charity is urging people to back an online campaign by donating £10 towards the fans.

  7. Traffic and travel: Train disruption continues

    The problem with the Selby swing bridge has been fixed but there is still disruption with delays of up to 60 minutes expected until 16:00.

    • TransPennine Express customers can use Northern services between Selby and Leeds and Virgin Trains East Coast, CrossCountry, and Hull Trains on any reasonable route.
    • Northern trains will be replaced by a bus between York and Selby, and between Selby and Hull.
    • Hull Trains may be diverted between Hull and Doncaster via the line through Goole.
  8. Hull's East Park splash boat open

    Good news if you want to cool off in Hull- East Park's historic splash boat has opened for the summer holidays after undergoing extensive maintenance work. 

    Hull City Council says there's only one other similar attraction remaining in the country. 

     It's open until 4th September from 10:45 until 17:45.

  10. Sport: Hull City confirm Steve Bruce talking to FA

    Hull City have confirmed that an informal discussion has taken place between manager Steve Bruce and the FA over the England job.

    They added that no official approach has been received from the FA.

  11. New app for young people in North East Lincolnshire

    The 'GoDoo' app is aimed at providing information on youth activities in North East Lincolnshire.

    The app will be launched at Grimsby Auditorium on Friday with special guests Thomas Turgoose from This is England and players from Grimsby Town FC.

  12. Increase in assaults on Hull and East Yorkshire NHS staff

    Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust has seen some of the highest increases of assaults on staff in the country.

    Figures show the number of assaults has gone up four-fold since 2010.

    NHS Protect, the national body that collects the data revealed staff were assaulted by the over 75's more than any other age group.

  13. Cleethorpes paddling pool closed

    Cleethorpes paddling pool has been closed until further notice. 

    It's because repairs are needed to its plant room and the pool will remain shut until money is found to pay for it.

    • A 26-year-old Hull man has died after two lorries crashed near Scunthorpe
    • The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust will appeal to the Secretary of State to overturn the decision to reject planning permission for a new visitor centre at Spurn
  15. Train passengers stranded in East Yorkshire

    Passengers are stranded on trains in East Yorkshire after the Selby Swing Bridge has failed for a second day in a row. 

    It's thought the heat may be to blame for the bridge not closing properly. 

    Trains between Hull, Manchester, York and London are currently affected.
