    Mark Williamson

    BBC Local Live

And finally... Cambridge researchers have made a "momentous discovery" on 2,000-year-old "personal hygiene sticks", used instead of toilet roll.

    2,000-year-old personal hygiene sticks

The centuries-old evidence from an ancient toilet in north-western China has revealed the first archaeological evidence that travellers along the Silk Road -  the most famous trade route of the ancient world - were responsible for the spread of infectious diseases.

  4. Tom Nichols: 'Delighted' to be fit for Peterborough

    Adam Jinkerson

    BBC Local Live

This interview is well worth a listen...

Peterborough's Tom Nichols is convinced he'll deliver in front of goal this season.

The 22-year-old, who joined from Exeter back in January, has recently recovered from a knee injury.

    Tom Nichols

He says he is now "injury free" and that he is "delighted to be in pre-season".

The striker also says he believes that if he's "given the game time" he can score goals for Posh.

You can hear his chat with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire here.

  5. Barrel rolls and loop-the-loops

    Mike Cartwright

    BBC Look East

If you want to become a pilot for the RAF, where do you start?

Funnily enough, not with the fastest, most expensive jets. You start with an aircraft called the Grob Tutor.

But don't think these pilots hold back... I was taken for a ride in one of the planes at RAF Wittering - and it certainly was a ride.

  6. Driver 'fed up' with waiting for electric car charge point assaulted man

    Waseem Mirza

    BBC Look East

The BBC has learned the first case of "charge rage" - where electric car owners argue over public charging equipment - has ended up in a Peterborough court.

Philip Coates, 56, of Park Avenue, Cudworth, Barnsley, west Yorkshire, received a 12-month conditional discharge and was made to pay the victim £100 compensation at the city's magistrates last week, after pleading guilty to assault by beating.

It happened at Peterborough Services on the A1(M) in May, when he punched the driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in-Hybrid (PHEV) vehicle in the face. He felt the driver had overstayed the charging bay and prevented him from getting a charge, when the car could have used petrol instead.

"Charge rage" has become more and more commonplace in the US particularly in recent years, as electric vehicles have become more widespread. You only have to search #ChargeRage on Twitter to see how it's becoming the new "road rage".

Electric car experts have told me the case highlights why the public infrastructure of car charging points in the UK needs to be improved.

  7. Shepreth Wildlife Park in prickly situation

    Adam Jinkerson

    BBC Local Live

We've just seen in the Cambridge News staff at Shepreth Wildlife Park's Hedgehog Hospital have been inundated with hedgehogs, brought into the hospital due to dehydration in the recent hot weather - and being abandoned in the nest by their mother.

Shepreth are currently looking after 67 hedgehogs – with the smallest baby hedgehog weighing in at just 48g.

Follow the link to look at them wrapped in their blankets... enough to make a grown man weep.

  8. Drug arrests at Secret Garden Party

    Emma Howgego

    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire

Cambridgeshire police officers have seized drugs and made arrests on the first official day of The Secret Garden Party.

Four arrests were made after a car full of suspected drug dealers was stopped and searched as it tried to enter the Abbots Ripton site.

Police say they were alerted to the suspicious car when it was picked up by their automatic number plate recognition system.

    Secret Garden Party

Meanwhile, security searches of festival-goers have resulted in 187 other drug finds involving 89 individuals. A number of people were also reported making attempts to get on site for free during the night by jumping the security fence - those resulted in two arrests for assault.

There have also been two reports of thefts from tents. Police told us this is a big reduction from previous years.

    Fatima Manji

We'll bring you more on this story as we get it.

  17. Lunchtime weather: Rain warning issued for Cambridgeshire

    BBC Weather

Today hasn't quite lived up to the beginning part of the week...

    View more on twitter

  18. Look what we found in the bin

    Adam Jinkerson

    BBC Local Live

Sometimes you can find news in the most unexpected places...

Earlier we mentioned a movie is being shot at Ely Cathedral, with lots of trucks currently parked outside.

Well, this morning BBC Radio Cambridgeshire reporter Johnny Dee found this letter to local residents and businesses in the bin outside the cathedral.

Letter to residents of Ely outline filming schedule

It states a new feature film called Time Out Of Mind - confusingly, the same title as a 2014 Richard Gere flick - is being shot there next week.

However, it's been widely rumoured by residents and the local press that the new Assassin's Creed movie is being shot there.

A quick Google search finds a lot of online talk about Time Out Of Mind being the on-set name of Assassin's Creed.

    Ely Cathedral filming

To try and clarify things, we called the number on the letter. The spokeswoman wouldn't give us any details, but instead gave us a couple of email addresses for Fox - which is, of course, making the Assassin's Creed movie.

So can we definitely say you'll see actors Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard having a pint at the Albert, or a lamb bhuna and naan at Le Spice next week? No. But the evidence is stacking up.

Goes without saying... if you do spot any big celebs in the local coffee shop, get in touch via emailFacebook or Twitter.

  19. Wisbech is 'great lost gem'

    Adam Jinkerson

    BBC Local Live

Talks are under way today to discuss the best way to rejuvenate Wisbech - which some say is a neglected part of Cambridgeshire.

One of the ideas is to turn it into a garden town, something that would see an extra 10,000 homes built.

    Wisbech museum exterior

David Rudlin, the director of urban design firm Urbed, will be at the Wisbech 2020 summit meeting. He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire the town is "a beautiful place but a little bit isolated and overlooked".

"The key thing for the people of Wisbech is the rail connection," he said.

"I think what we will be able to get is a very good transport connection. I'm hoping it's rail. If it's not rail it will be a tram system or a very good bus system."

  20. Travel update: No major incidents to report

    BBC Travel

As always, we're keeping you up-to-date with traffic information, especially around Huntingdon where The Secret Garden Party is taking place.

And to put it simply... so far, so good.

However, as we saw yesterday, we expect delays as the day goes on so take care around the area - and expect your journey time to be a little longer than usual.

We'll have more updates as the day goes on.
