Man stabbed to death in Basildon town centre

Police were called to Market Pavement in Basildon, Essex, where a man in his 20s had been stabbed
A man has been stabbed to death in Basildon town centre.
Essex Police, which has launched a murder investigation, said officers were called to Market Pavement at 17:30 BST following reports the man had suffered stab wounds.
Ambulance crews were called and the man was airlifted to hospital where he later died.
A 22-year-old man from Basildon was arrested near the scene and is being questioned, police said.
