  1. That's enough for now

We're done for the day but we will be back again tomorrow.

In the meantime, scroll down for Marcus Mumford's thoughts on why so many sexual assaults are being reported at Swedish music festivals, plus live shows announced by The Strokes and Morrissey, new music from The Pixies and Biffy Clyro and videos from Bryan Adams and Petit Meller.

  2. Comedian David Walliams appears in new Bryan Adams video

Celebrated comedian, children's book writer and River Thames swimmer-upperer David Walliams appears in the new music video by Bryan Adams.

Dressed in 80s rawk garb, Walliams sports a double-neck electric guitar as he mugs for the camera and generally tries to steal Bryan's limelight (we guess this is the point).

It also features something of a one-sided and ever-so-slightly awkward man hug.

  3. Marcus Mumford: sex assaults at Swedish festivals are 'systemic'

    BBC Radio 4

Marcus Mumford has been talking to Radio 4's Front Row about his band's decision to boycott the Bravalla festival in Sweden after a series of sex attacks were reported at the weekend.

As we reported earlier (scroll down for more details), more than 40 cases of rape and sexual assault were reported at two festivals - Bravella and Putte I Parken.

Writing on Facebook, the band said they were "appalled to hear what happened", adding:

"We won't play at this festival again until we've had assurances from the police and organisers that they're doing something to combat what appears to be a disgustingly high rate of reported sexual violence."

Marcus told presenter John Wilson that the problem extended beyond Bravalla and seemed to be "systemic" at Swedish events.

  4. Tiny composer doesn't like Mozart comparison

    BBC Radio 4

Alma Deutscher is 11-years old and wrote her first opera at the age of seven.

She also wrote a violin concerto at age nine.

This year, her full length opera of Cinderella will be premiered in Vienna.

Did we say she is now 11?

Alma has been speaking to Today presenter Sarah Montague about how she composes music and what she feels about being compared to Mozart.

    Once again. Alma is 11.

    11!!

  5. Petite Meller debuts new video filmed in natural pink lake

Petite Meller in Milk Bath video

Anyone who's come across slightly eccentric singer Petite Meller (and if you haven't you can check out Newsbeat's profile on her) will be familiar with her pink cheeks - but now she's unveiled a new video filmed in a pink lake.

She apparently found the naturally occurring rose-tinted Lake Retba in Senegal with the help of scientists from Cornell University.

“[They] even asked me to collect a sample from the lake for them,” Petite explained to Paper Magazine

“I love the fact that Science and music can collaborate through a music video. It reminds me how science was the reason for art in Michelangelo's Renaissance times.”

The London-born, Paris-based 21-year-old mixes inspirations from old jazz records to Fela Kuti and Paul Simon’s Graceland on Milk Bath - which features musicians from Ladysmith Black Mambazo and was recorded between London and Johannesburg in South Africa.

The video also features her being given a bizarre milk bath. Enjoy...

  6. The Invisible's Dave Okumu releases video for Prince tribute

Oceans of Purple by Dave Okumu

Last month, we brought you Oceans of Purple, the touching Prince tribute written by Dave Okumu from The Invisible, who credits the late artist with saving his life.

He's just released a video to go with the song, which is raising money for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.

The track, featuring additional vocals from Jamie Woon, was written in the aftermath of Prince's death. Here's what Okumu had to say about the video:

Quote Message: I wanted to make something that captured the simplicity and naivety of my original connection with this life-changing artist. As a boy I used to watch him on TV in awe and, when I started playing the guitar, I would often pretend I was in The Revolution playing along to those incredible records and performances. Sitting in front of that TV screen during the making of our video took me back to that place. I hope viewers will come there with me.

We're sure he's not the only one guilty of pretending they were in The Revolution once or twice...

  7. Pixies announce new album Head Carrier and debut first single

    Music Week

Alt-rockers Pixies have announced they're releasing a new album this September called Head Carrier, which was recorded in London earlier this year...

    View more on twitter

They've also shared its first single - the bizarrely-titled Um Chagga Lagga - and added a new European leg to their world tour, kicking off on 15 November in Vienna.

The band has now made bassist Paz Lenchantin, who's been touring with the band since 2014, a permanent member and she apparently played a key role in the new album.

Lenchantin admits she was "nervous" about filling the shoes of Kim Deal.

"I spent three years learning to understand what being a Pixie meant, and now, my heart, spirit, and love for their music is embedded in me and I feel like I have become a Pixie.

"We had been more about the history of the Pixies, but now, we are about going forward."

Pixies superfans may even want to compare it to a performance of Um Chagga Lagga that they filmed exclusively for Rolling Stone last year, before they'd even recorded the track.

  14. Lady Leshurr's new Wiley collaboration coming to a moshpit near you

    Lady Leshurr

Lady Leshurr reckons her new track Where Are You Now?, featuring grime legend Wiley, is "a moshpit kind of song".

The Birmingham rapper spoke to Annie Mac about the collaboration last night, as it was made the DJ's Hottest Record in the World.

"He sounds so raw, he's the old Wiley on this track," she said.

"He actually contacted me, he wanted me on his album and I was like 'oh my gosh, I've got the perfect song for you, on my album. It's absolutely sick."

Fresh from smashing it at Glastonbury, Lady Leshurr said it was good to have all her DIY efforts finally paying off.

"I can't even put into words how I feel because it's been a good ten years graft," she said.

"And just to know that I did this, the majority of the time, myself - creating an organic voice on my own YouTube channel - and just to prove to people that you can actually do it yourself, you just have to be consistent and focused.

"So the way I feel right now... I want to scream, can I scream?" she asked (before screaming, obvs).

Listen to the track and the full chat below:

She also busts some moves in the colourful new video, featuring Lady Leshurr sat on a throne:

  17. Band boycotts festival after sex attack

Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons

Mumford & Sons say they will boycott a Swedish music festival after reports 17 women were sexually assaulted at the event.

Five reports of rape and 12 of sexual assault were reported during Bravalla, Sweden's biggest festival.

    The band wrote on Facebook:

Quote Message: We're appalled to hear what happened at the Bravalla Festival last weekend. Festivals are a celebration of music and people, a place to let go and feel safe doing so. We're gutted by these hideous reports.
Quote Message: We won't play at this festival again until we've had assurances from the police and organisers that they're doing something to combat what appears to be a disgustingly high rate of reported sexual violence

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven has described the attacks on female audience-members as "totally unacceptable" and said laws on sexual assault would be tightened.
