Esmee Visser spoiled Martina Sablikova's party as she denied her the chance to win a third straight women's 5,000m title.
A time of six minutes 50.23 seconds ensured Visser took home the gold.
That's 13th medals for the Netherlands in South Korea.

One guy who was happy after the cross-country skiing was Tonga's Pita Taufatofua.
It wasn't all joy for the Brits, though - Andrew Musgrave was not happy with himself after he finished 28th in the cross country 15km, calling his performane "shocking".
There was also a loss for GB's male curlers against Sweden.

Laura Deas was in fifth after her first run but she bounced back in spectacular style on her Olympic debut.
A super speedy second run saw her end the day in fourth place - 0.17 seconds off the lead and firmly in medal contention alongside Yarnold.

Dominic Parsons came through a dramatic final run to become the first British man since 1948 to win a medal in the skeleton.

But make no mistake - that was a magnificent effort from the British rink. Kyle Smith and his crew are competing in their first Olympics and pushed the experienced Swedes, one of the favourites in Pyeongchang, all the way.
