One of the great baseball players, who hit 600 home runs, was at SW19 today.

Alex Rodriguez, aka Mr. Jennifer Lopez, has been in the Royal Box today.

He took time out to speak to BBC Sport.

"This is my first time and it’s so exciting to be here," said the 43-year-old.

"I’ve ticked off something from my bucket list – I ticked off the Masters too earlier this year and watched Tiger Woods win.

He is here without singer J-Lo, and added: "She has major FOMO and wishes she was here."

It's a dream debut for the 15-year-old.

A couple of weeks ago she was at home in Florida, last week she was playing in the qualifying. It looks to be awfully special.

Danish 14th seed Caroline Wozniacki was 5-4 up against Sara Sorribes in the opening set before the Spaniard retired.

Ugo Humbert also went through by virtue of his opponent pulling out, with fellow Frenchman Gael Monfils, the 16th seed, retiring with the score at 6-7 (6-8) 3-6 6-4 7-5 3-0.

Compatriot Corentin Moutet was two sets down but fought back to see off Bulgarian former world number three Grigor Dimitrov 2-6 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 6-1.

Elsewhere, two-time Grand Slam winner Victoria Azarenka leads France's Alize Cornet 6-4 4-3, while China's Zhang Shuai has just taken the opening set 6-4 against Caroline Garcia.

Kyle Edmund is taking his time as he makes his way off Centre Court, signing about about 1,000 autographs and posing for around the same number of selfies.

His next opponent, 35-year-old Fernando Versdasco, is playing the men's singles at Wimbledon for the 16th time, but has gone out in the first round on four of his last five visits. In fact he has only gone past the fourth round here once, when he reached the quarter-finals in 2013.

What a moment, an incredible story and everyone on Court One is on the their feet. It's an incredible moment that she will remember forever. A star is born.

You can see what it means to her. Venus was her idol growing up, she probably copied a lot of her game on what Venus and Serena were doing.

She will be a star in the future, there is no doubt about that. It's just incredible for her to beat Venus at Wimbledon, the most prestigious tournament in the world.

It's all about dealing with the pressure and expectation, Cori Gauff has been more in the shade but that will put her in the front row for many months. She will have a lot more media attention, it's important for her to get a good support team around her.

There are so many players who had everything and fell apart. At some point it is not about the tennis anymore, it is about the outside the court stuff and being able to deal with it.

Munar has won three games in a row but now he needs some medical attention. What's wrong, exactly? Ah, he has a small - very small - cut on one of his fingers, so Edmund is going to have to wait before he tries to see this one out... it won't be long though.
