We know they are good on transition but I don't think there was massive amounts in it beyond that. As soon as the ball turns over though they hurt you.
"One of my many obsessions is players turning their back when the ball is hit at them but that is splitting hairs. I'm not going to be too critical for that.
"A lot of the game we tried to affect them and I thought we did. They are working with a higher line this year and we got among them. But the big teams are clinical around the box and that is why they are so good. Once the second goes in it is tough. It is tough to break them down. They were the better side but I don't think it was a 3-0 game. I am pleased with what I am seeing from the mentality of the side."

"We were a bit lucky with the first goal but we forced that situation. We controlled the game as much as you can. Wood and Barnes fight so hard for these balls, and we defended it really well. We were aggressive but gave away no fouls, we worked our socks off.

"They invite crosses into the box, that's the way they like to defend so I was trying to find a different angle in behind. Luckily it got a deflection, I'm not too fussed it's an own goal.
"We want to be setting records, doing good things. It's an unbelievable side we've got. Hopefully we can keep that rhythm up and stay injury free. We pushed City all the way last season and hopefully we can go one step further."
On a performance like this, Liverpool are again just beating
teams by their strength and their quality. They’ve had six or seven good

Paul Tunde: Well, both Mane and Salah need a telling off, they seldom pass to each other to get easy goal for the team. Mane was right to be angry.
John: Salah needs to understand that goal difference may be the difference this season, so his greediness in not playing in his better placed teammates could be crucial.
